Hey OP, is use of psychedelics while in the tank frowned upon?

A few tabs in the water would be amazing.

I by principle would suggest not to do it, but considering I have experimented, and people will do what they will do:
If you show no signs of intoxication, and do not say that you are on something, there is no frowning.

How long of a write up are you trying to get per session. I'm in the area and interested but I'm not very good at putting down words.

Honestly it is pretty open ended.  Maybe a 1/2 page to full page? I could get you 2, 2.5 hours and you could write about each and combine the text together

I have scary vivid dreams every night. You should hook some electrodes to my head and study me. Though the high salinity water may play havoc on the electrodes. :hmm:

Yes that has been an obstacle for decades actually. The original 1980's scientific research used electrodes in a very 1-time use way and just plowed through them unnecessarily.  This of course decayed rather quickly and research was halted.  They even tried literally gluing electrodes to peoples skin and then using acetone to remove them :macdre:

Justin Feinstein over at LIBR is the first to begin modern research and has sought out getting specialized electrodes made just for his project.

My project is not scientific perse, much more abstract, and consensus based.

Hey Psy, i'm curious how often people 'tap-out' of the tanks early. as in, do people ever become uncomfortable? or start hallucinating vividly?

Not as often as you would imagine.

I know of 1 guy who regularly hops out early because it gets to "intense", yet he loves it and floats regularly, he'll just wander around in a robe, drink tea and hop back in.

I do not think usually that visuals cause too much intensity.  The over-riding factor of the experience is usually comfort, stillness, and relaxation.

There are the very rare people who have too much sub-conscious junk that becomes overwhelming. Things they have chose not to deal with that start bubbling up due to lack of distraction.  Yet, a person in that position, if they choose to sit with it, to allow it to happen, surrender to the phenomenon there is a great clearing-out, a freeing of bonds that occurs.

One of my best friends has come out the other side of extreme PTSD and drug addiction primarily from floating.

I think it is much more sobering and non-experience more than most people imagine.

Wasn't there some old 70s movie about some guy doing acid and geting into a sensory deprevation chamber and turning into a werewolf or something and going and eating all the baby animals at a peting zoo? That don't sound too safe. :hmm:

We have been open 4 years and have had nothing legally major come our way.  To be 100% honest, there have been a few little slips, a bonk here or there, but 80% of the time it is so minor that they are still in a bit of a float-high state that they don't even say anything.

For a non-physically compensated individual between the ages of 10-70, it is really quite safe.  Elderly need to use tank styles are that easy to get in-out, and people with dis-abilities.

But as far as once you are in a floating, its one of the safest things you can do .  Floating in space, 80% gravity-free, perfect temperature, no stimulation.  Safe as it gets :vaped:
