Incubation takes forever

Hello, I bought a growing kit and a syringe of spores 10ml. The kit was with ingredients for two bags only. I did everything as I was supposed to (in sterile environment) and I have put the bags t a show box and inside a drawer. The temperature is approximately 80F. Two weeks have passed and the progress is not really going fast. I attached pictures. Please give me an advice why the incubation is going so slow. Thanks in advance. Peace.

1. grow kit, who knows how long ago those bags were sterilized. you want freshly sterilized things to inject spores into.
2. use the correct temperature 80F is borderline put the AC on for cubensis in colonization.
3. don't put your bag somewhere where it doesn't get any light or air flow like in a box.
4. have more patience and use this wonderful resource in the meanwhile.

Also those bags need to be unfolded with space between the filter patch and the back of the bag to allow for GE or else it will be really slow.

Good point Dmoney.
all things considered that bag looks fine for the time frame and substrate size. I am assuming you inoculated in only one area. for it being a kit of dubious origins and a single MS inoculation point, you are looking fine buddy.
If this is your first time, it can be an agonizingly slow process. As Mr. Satta stated above, patience is CRITICAL to this hobbies success and enjoyment.

Do not "incubate" spawn bags or jars. Place on a shelf, in room temperature conditions. 80F is borderline, especially for spawn bags.

colonization not incubation. don't incubate unless you live in a 50F house.

Thanks a lot for the help. I am still new with the terminology. This is a friend's first try, my first try will be soon. I read a couple of articles and passages from books, but what I found most helpful (or easy to understand) is a video at youtube for growing shroomies. Also I have another question. I looked that a humidifier is not always necessary for providing the necessary amount of humidity for the colony. I saw some method with watering the bottom of the aquarium or the plastic case (excuse my bad terminology). Is this a secure way, or I should better buy a humidifier? Thanks

humidifiers are only for green house fruiting chambers or if your room humidity is lower than 20-30% regularly.
all the mushroom videos on youtube maybe 3% of them are worth taking any bit of advice from. most of them are fucking garbage.

I asked my friend, he told me that he injected 5ml sores on only one place. How bad is this? Thanks.

I'm having a similar issue. I bought two spawn bags (grain, 5 lbs ea.) injected 5cc of spores and they have been in incubation for nearly 3 weeks without any sign of mycellium growth. I fear they have failed. I used proper sterilization techniques as far as I know. I assume it's because of the incubator. Could it be that they aren't getting enough air? No signs of mold, no sign of anything.

I do .5-1cc per bag/jar.

Yes, the spores are from a vendor. It's a commonly used, trusted source.

Why use an incubator? With cubes room temp has always done fine for me.

This...
If you are comfortable in the room wearing a tshirt, the mycelium is fine colonizing without supplemental heat. I literally just responded to another post because the guy's heater broke and overheated the room to 100 degrees. They do more harm than good.

I guessed as much. I now have them out of the incubator. It's main purpose was so that the AC didn't cool them down too much. The incubator kept them at 76 degrees constantly. I guess it's best to let nature just do it's thing. I know that they will get better air flow outside of the box, I hope the bags will recover.

This bad is sealed it is from a kit. It had only one hole - for injecting the spores, then he put the sticky cap that was provided for the bag, and thats it. How the spores will receive air even if they are outside the show box?

The white filter provides gas exchange for the mycelium. It's supposed to stay sealed, the filter bars out any contaminates that would enter otherwise.

I have them out of the incubator, now they are in my grow area. the temperature is around 78 degrees. The humidity is about 40%, which probably isn't an issue at the moment. The bags are getting more airflow and seem to be inflating a bit. Do you think that after three weeks the bags may actually spring back to life? There has been no sign of mycellium growth thus far.
