Inceptionism * 3
    #21849320 - 06/24/15 08:09 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

So apparently google was developing some sort of computer system meant to mimic the way the human brain interprets/classifies images. They fed it images and tried to get the computers to correctly ID them. The results of that were pretty interesting, for instance, in pictures of dumbbells that were interpreted by the computer, there was nearly always one dumbbell bent and vaguely arm shaped; the computer, seeing so many images of dumbbells with arms bent, "thought" that dumbbells included bent arms.

So they took this system, with all these images saved in it to help it ID new data, and fed in random pictures of things like the sky, or landscapes. The results are crazy.

I can't help but think computers would be fond of LSD.

:mindblown:

Anyone else find this incredibly interesting?

You could definitely be a mod dude.

You are definitely rude and opinionated enough.

How are you not an Admin yet?

Ok, lets take it into a completely unrelated thread.

If you weren't attempting to insult me or troll me with the above remark, wtf are you actually doing?

I'm sure you don't care, but seriously, I thought you were an OK dude before.

I see I was probably wrong.

it's an artistic picture, and I think it's cool. It doesn't naturally look like that though, so it's a poison. nothing wrong with being a poison though

i'm glad you've realized what a monster I am

I see that Sheekle.

Good luck with becoming a mod. I'm sure it's headed down the pipe.

Indeed, it often seems to me that of all the good things in the world, the only ones humanity can claim for itself are stories and music; the rest, mercy, beauty, sleep, clean water and hot food (as the Ascian would have said) are all the work of the Increate. Thus, stories are small things indeed in the scheme of the universe, but it is hard not to love best what is our own—hard for me, at least."

That is pretty amazing. Its almost like this is exactly what are brain does with incoming information during a trip. I think there is a lot to learn from this

Definitely man.

It's just so crazy that it associates stuff when there is nothing there! Or from TV white noise it will put together a picture of a bananna, or just throw out some crazy patterns, or like, whole scenes of buildings and flowing water and stuff.

And those abstract conglomerate animals are put Dali and juxtapose magazine to shame!

Yeah this is the coolest thing i have seen on the web in a long while. it's like they literally recreated the 'dreaming' activity in an artificial neural network
