Please help with a poorly looking Salvia D cutting - and will lights work through acrylic?

I ordered a cutting from a head shop, it was the only place I could find a live plant. It arrived about 25-30cm in length with only two major-ish leaves coming off on a separate stem off a node kinked at a weird angle, the roots were more numerous than expected and about 1/2 a fistfull loosely assembled. It's been freezing cold in my house, and I had to jury-rig a setup. Ignore the stakes they were to keep the plastic bag off it. It's now housed in an old aquarium, with a water jug and an aquarium heater that keeps the temp inside at what I set it to - currently air temp is 20C, unsure of humidity. I bought a 14W Phillips Adreno tube, that is slightly too big for the aquarium and so is sitting on the side as per pics.

Is there anything I should be doing? Will the acrylic absorb too much of the light? I did use a pretty big pot, but it was because the stem was so long much of it needed to be buried(about soil level to the first node in length is underneath). Other than the plant I think I'm doing ok - it's only been a day since it arrived so too early to get a feeling of how well it's doing. I can't witness any wilting yet because there aren't enough leaves.
The thing was sent wrapped in sphagnum moss, in a plastic bag - in a soft courier bag. Unbelievable.

Wow, you said it, poor thing to be treated that way in the post. Well at least she made it to you in fine shape to regrow.
I see you took care with the temps and humidity, and the light will be good for rehab. Just make sure you allow for some air exchange and get a timer for the light. I don't think the acrylic will matter much.
Good luck

Cool, 16 - 18hrs. You could start them with 16hrs to acclimatize up to 18, but it might not matter.
