They can't even predict the weather next week and we are expected to believe that 97% of the climate "scientists" all agree that mankind is responsible, and therefore deserves to be taxed even more on energy. Meanwhile, the oil companies continue to get massive subsidies - for being such "good non-polluting companies"???
Here's a fun watch. PBS aired it a while back, called Dimming The Sun. Seems to be working, with the SRM from aerosol spraying, we're already down over 10% of the solar energy reaching earth. Good job eoengineers, as the earth warms partly from your idiotic program that also happens to be killing life on earth. The greenhouse effect from their burning a shit ton of jet fuel while exhausting CO2, H2O, and all those nasty nanoparticles of reflective alumina. You've proven you can reduce the sun hitting the earth, while it warms more and more in part from your aerosol spraying.
This ties into drought, because as the aerosols continue to be sprayed, they have a water retention effect in the atmosphere, which makes for less rain as a result.
Still waiting for sudfly to respond to my geoengineering question.

Lunar Eclipse, on the topic "abortion causes drought" what would we even be talking about?
What ever happened to having a subject worth considering? These American "cultural commentaries", and little parades are ridiculous.
None of this seems to relate either to the world as it is or any reflection of it.

OC is 60+ and has to rely more and more on shock value threads and pictures to get a reaction in here. He posts a nonsensical thread bashing some religion or belief in a mocking manner, so that the others on here can react and give him his cheap thrills.

Now compare that to my 'crime' of being bored and posting weird, but factual, news stories.

Hmm, how quick does "falsificationism" ordinarily turn into sniffing around other people's dirty laundry?

The term 'geoengineering' is pretty much a conspiracy theory that scientists/governments will go ape shit trying to change the climate. Geoengineering is full of wacky ideas like blocking out or reflecting sun rays with space mirrors, planting cloud seeds or pumping aerosols into the atmosphere to reflect sun rays.
The things in geoengineering are just ideas, they aren't all implemented or used. The only ideas that have merit and are being used are renewable energy sources and the planting of trees.
These two methods are effective at reducing GHG emissions and levels in the atmosphere and if given enough time, funding and research could make a real beneficial difference to our air and climate.
As for David Keith, yes, he's proposed an idea of spraying aerosols into the atmosphere to reflect sunlight. His idea had a lot of criticism as the effects would be highly unpredictable if mankind every used it on wide scale.
All he and his student did was a test to try and gain data on the idea. "The objective is not to alter the climate, but simply to probe the processes at a micro scale," said Keith. "The direct risk is very small."
This does not mean there is the go ahead to perform this on a global scale because of how unpredictable and dangerous it could be.
