I just saw Joker on Thursday, maybe 6 or 7 /10, I liked it, but I didnt think it was as good as I thought it would be, everyone was saying how good it was when it was in theatres

I enjoyed it but it was definitely super dark and very different.

Yeah she is quite good on Ozark. I've seen a few movies where there is no story to speak of, just "atmosphere", not really my thing either.

Yeah she is very talented and this movie was no fault of her own for sure.
But it was just so strange in the sense that during the entire 90 minutes or whatever of run time that not a single definable notable incident occurred in it. Aside from low key hinting at maybe possibly something seedy going on.
But nothing is ever concretely confirmed and there was no resolution. It just starts -- she wakes up, goes to the office, the entire film takes place in the course of this one day, and then the day (and movie) ends. That's it. With nothing at all confirmed during the entire film.
I mean I'm all for not having the same tidy film formulas where everything is wrapped up in a neat little bow after, but come on. If I sit there for an hour and a half I expect at least something to go off of other than maybe, just maybe something may or may have not happened, lol. I was reading the reviews and amazingly it got a 92% fresh rating on rotten tomatoes from the critics -- but the audience rating was 25%
I don't know if I've ever seen a disparity that big between the critic reviews and the audience reviews. Safe to say I agree with the audience.

The Last Jedi was loved by critics, but hated by audience

Chappelle stand up special was like 99 to 1, audience: critics. Or something like that.
