Honestly, considering almost any site anyone watches it on, it's pretty much guaranteed anybody who goes to see it is gonna read a description that will quickly prove this wrong.
Reminds me of when my friends brother told him about an insanely depressing documentary about a child who was killed, was a hilarious comedy. Well this was when my friend first started getting stoned, so he got really high (mistaking it for a comedy) and watched it. I have always been confused how he didn't see the description on netflix first.
To sum it up it starts out as a documentary from a dad to his son. The dad was killed by a psycho bitch he was married to who was pregnant at the time. There was a shitload of evidence pointing to her as the killer, and yet she got away with it, and still had custody of the child. Basically its the family describing to the kid what his dad was like since they never met. Halfway through the movie hes like "mm/dd/yyyy, You died" then the movie drops the bomb that she killed the kid as well, and it only gets worse from there.
Dear zachary, a letter from a father to his son. 5 bags of popcorn, and 500 boxes of tissues. Must watch, if you enjoy a good criminal documentary.

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say here. The netflix description of Funny Games gives no indication of it being a comedy, and there isn't really much in the movie that is funny.

Bite the Bullet(1975)- 7/10
A bunch ov sundry folks partake in an early 20th century 700mi horse race and encounter inner conflicts along the way.
An atypical western this film manages to address some novel topics for the time, all the while digging up clichés beaten like a dead horse( excuse the pun if you're aware ov the movie ). Acting and script is good with a standout performance by Gene Hackman, whose role in the film was clearly influenced by the tolerant mid 70s era it was actually made in. There's also an unexpected plot twist in the end which was thoughtful to spice it up , but the direction was unbelievable. Another qualm i had was that it was'nt grand enough to justify its 2hr+ length.
Jan-Michael Vincent plays his part well as the animal-abusing punk kid who turns goody. This was a strong era for him between Buster and Billie and White Line Fever. On a personal level i did not like his character, but that was the point i guess. He got whooped good in this. I do'nt like when my JMV gets whooped. He had the best line though.
Bartender: "What'll it be?"
JMV: "Whiskey for me and beer for ma' horse!" ... as the horse then eagerly drops his head into a big pitcher.
I wish Peckinpah did this, ditching the lamo PGness and keeping the whores, heroin pills, and JMV.

Mysterious Skin(2004)- 10/10
Although The Living End is my favorite film by Gregg Araki, i feel that this film is clearly his best work and entirely deserving ov my rare 10/10 rating. All elements ov mysterious skin are superb(The only Araki film with top notch acting throughout) and the very difficult subject matter is exacted with complex apprehension, all the while retaining Araki's signature playfully nihilistic, Derek Jarman meets Harmony Korine, style.
I'll be lazy and copy the storyline from imdb: " Brian Lackey is determined to discover what happened during an amnesia blackout when he was eight years old, and then later woke with a bloody nose. He believes he was abducted by aliens, and N. McCormick, a fellow player on Brian's childhood baseball team, may be the key as to exactly what happened that night. As Brian searches for the truth and tries to track him down, Neil McCormick takes up hustling and moves to New York, in attempts to forget childhood memories that haunt him. Together, the two of them uncover the terrible truth of the scars they share."
Ov course that summary is woefully inadequate and misleading, and fails to mention the underlying plot which netted an nc-17 rating on the flick due to the subject matter alone. It really took some balls to tackle this film in the first place, and it was certainly handled with aplomb. Man/boy relationships are typically dealt with in a similar manner on the screen, and to see the unique spins this movie takes on the matter is quite novel while retaining believability. It really goes deep into the human psyche. Not to be one dimensional, the trials ov the rentboy are also expressed in an honest way. And on a personal level, the quasi-rape scene touched in remembrance ov an undesirable encounter on a hook during earlier days ov sluttery.
There's not a bad performance in the lot but the standouts are both Neil characters played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chase Ellison, and Michelle Trachtenberg's supporting role as understanding friend. The child actors are great, and i find it quite profound that they were not made aware ov the sexual connotations during filming.
All in all a phenomenal flick that will never receive the recognition it deserves.

. I figured that if anyone on the forums even knew who the devil Gregg Araki was, it would be you. I love his work, even as silly as it sometimes is. One ov my favorite directors along with Jarman, Richard Stanley, Jodorowsky, and Peckinpah.

National Geographic's "Lewis and Clark"(on netflix). 6/10
Pretty sure this is the same documentary I watched in 7th grade. Very interesting subject to me, but the documentary doesn't do it the justice it deserves - definitely needs an update in terms of directing style, as it's over 10 years old now.
