Drive 8/10
it was a bit slow, and it's low key, but it's also kinda very stylized more than it is realistic...it's very pretty though.

Under The Skin 9/10
freaky movie. it's like a James O Incandenza film. seriously. and some deformed faces brought back some bad memories, whilst boozing.
and the soundtrack... some of it is from somewhere...Texas Chainsaw?
somewhere familiar to a horror movie, those strings....
anyways, trippy movie, probably not alot of people got what they wanted to watch, or understood what they were watching.
it was excellent.

Maybe I was just not in the right place for it. I heard really good things. But, meh......just seemed over the top and forced.

Absentia - I'm really very picky about horror movies, and this one was really impressive(especially because it was pretty low budget). It's on netflix, it's a slow burner, but I thought it was pretty good. 8/10. Saw it a couple weeks ago on netlix, and just remembered.
In this vein The Taking of Deborah Logan was another little indie horror flick I liked.

Sometimes I just want to sit down and scare the shit out of myself, but I never really watch many(even popular) horror films, so if anyone has any recommendations of something that will really give me the creeps and make me feel weird for like a solid few hours afterwards, that'd be appreciated.

Check this trailer. Same guy who directed Drive. Gosling is in this one, too.
movie is bizarre as fuck
i don't even wanna recommend it's so fucking out there...way different than Drive obviously, but shit, it may be worth burning some time on if you watch it blitzed out of your mind. It's at the very least really atmospheric.
trailer is kinda cool though

Another bizarre dark Gosling movie is Stay. I haven't watched it in a while, but I loved it and would probably give it like an 8.5-9/10.

I reviewed this a couple pages back, think I scored it a lot lower. It had some great horror elements and art department work for sure but I kind of felt like there was a David Lynch-style "plot holes make it a deep movie" thing going on.

i wouldn't say it had plot whatsoever.
it was just visual meaning...not story driven, i find.

Yeah the whole time I was expecting to eventually find out what was up with the motorcycle guy/guys... nope. It was indeed very cool visually though.

Check out Kuroneko , it's a really good Japanese horror movie. I watched it a while after Under the Skin, and it reminded me of that movie in parts. There are scenes of a girl leading guys through a forest, and the soundtrack is really similar to the similar scenes in Under the Skin. I feel like UTS had to be influenced by this movie. Also it's just a really good movie.

They were working with her to capture people.
