WHATS UP? I'm in a pretty good mood today, last night my friend and I cased four b+ cakes following the casing for dummies tek. We put the lid on it and put it in the attic and a blanket over it so that it'd be completely dark. We sprayed so much lysol in our work area and were so careful that I have a hunch that this one will turn out amazingly. Our casing is: water/verm mixture on bottom, broken up cake on top, water/verm. mixture on top. Then we put the translucent lid on and taped the sides up for no air exchange now. My friend and I held hands and said a prayer to the shroom Gods. What should my steps be after I see pins? Will the white rhizomorphic growth move to the top layer of the verm/water and then pin?

The culture will colonize the verm layer but you really do need for the culture to breath just a little. If it is sealed air tight the culture will suffocate. Also it will not pin in the dark. It must be allowed to colonize part of the verm layer then when you see signs of the culture pokeing through the casing layer you would induce fruiting. This is when you expose it to light, air, and moisture.

All the above information is for microscopic research only!

Life is short so make a dent in the world so people can tell you were here!

Let me know how that works out for you... I usually just let em sit in the living room, listening to hip hop, and if they dont grow, i yell really loud into the fruiting chamber.
