Should they look like this??
    #21846757 - 06/23/15 04:59 PM (9 years, 6 months ago)

P. Cubensis just started pinning, check my other (and only) post about my fruiting chamber.

My 1st grow so obviously going to run into issues.

Lots of pins have started to develop and a couple of them are staring to look black. Are these normal aborts? or am I doing something wrong?? I fan twice a day, mist twice a day (with humidifier), have tried my hardest to keep an Aseptic chamber.

Any help would be great appreciated!!

Main 2 questions;
Are these normal aborts or is it a contamination?
Should I remove them asap?? As the rest look normal.

Thanks!

You know what's worth a thousand words?

.... Nah, me either.

I think you do though

Might be aborts, might be the end of days, the night the four horsemen ride again.  None can say for sure.

Aborts, looks really dry, and image is uploaded offsite which nobody here really likes to click on.

I'm guessing you're using a non-standard setup because this just doesn't really happen with SGFCs or proper monos.

Right humidifer is on now. It is indeed a non-standard setup, kinda just doing it for fun for my 1st attemp, made my own fruiting chamber to see if it would work (see my other post). Reckon I should pick off the aborts asap?

Well if you don't pick the aborts they run the risk of contaminating, and a humidifier isn't going to hydrate a substrate, it needs water.  Maybe even a dunk for like half an hour.

Those mushrooms that haven't aborted yet are going to, by the looks of it.  Also is that a casing layer?  It's very dry if so, and could use a misting, and if not, and it's just substrate that didn't get colonized, then it's been way too dry from the start and a misting won't be enough to fix that, go with the dunk.

Wait, there's a reflection in your picture....

That's in a fish tank with a humidifier routed in there isn't it?

Ok I'll pick them tonight. Thanks for the advice.
Ah ok, i'll start spraying them instead of misting. Thats the casing layer you can see, they grew on rye berries and were fully collonised, the casing is a mix of coco block thing and verm.
Their in a plastic box with holes drilled in it, got some pics of it on my only other post.
Also, with the picture uploading, is it unsafe for me to upload them to a different website and link them here, will they be easier to track?
Thanks!
