never tried it but searching on the net, you get no hope for that to be a psycadelic drug very soft to no effect, sometimes just triggers a placebo, some people say that it can be used as dream herb. I would say it's just a beautiful ornamental plant.

I ordered some blumie seeds from amazon, then later that day I went to a cool farmers market and nursery and found a beautiful coleus blumie.

and it was a dollar and 99 cents. going back to get a few more in a couple days.I amso proud of it.

i wouldn't be surprised if it induced some weird dreams
Mint and Salvia Divinorum have given me noticeably weird, more-vivid dreams, and they're from the same family as Coleus. Not saying that all the wide variety of Lamiaceae family plants share this property, but it's worth a shot.

Cool. Did you ever try blumei? I hear mixed things about it. If you go to my photo gallery you will see my other coleus and plants.

No I was never interested in consuming any of them "just didn't seem worth the time and effort to me atm".
Nice lil collection you got yourself there. I went ahead and shared a few of the coleus I have in my collection that I already had uploaded so check out my pics if you want. It's only a few of them though because I haven't taken pics of a lot of my coleus plants.

Yes, some mexican shamans use Coleus as addition or substituite for Salvia Divinorum. They see the Coleus as the male counterpart to the female Salvia Divinorum..
Some say it has salvinorin-A -like compounds, but there is no evidence. I smoked a few dried leaves of my own purple Coleus without any notable effect. A female friend of mine once made an 10x-extract out of some leaves I gave her, the same way she uses to make Salva extracts (with acetone I guess). But even with this extract we did not achieve any psychedelic effects.
Maybe it shows it's true potential when combined with Salvia Divinorum?

I've always heard this too, however when I bring it up in here I'm quickly countered by people saying "nothing active in coleus what so ever, NOTHING".

It's generally assumed the effects of Coleus are placebo, and there's not a lot of study that I'm aware of.
And if there's no study/statistics/proof...people dismiss it and don't take it into consideration for the most part. Not enough subjective thinking and decision making in world anymore.

I have read reports of some Cuanderos adding Coleus Species as well as Petunia, nicotinia, and several other varieties of cacti, including Neoraimondia, and Weberbauerocereus. to the "Cimmora-Brew". The traditional preparations of cuanderos often contain purgatives. (make you vomit), as they are part of the total experience. The thought was that the purgatives would flush out the bad stuff. (You would purge out the bad). Some people on Bio assay, say that these (addatives), sometimes help and increase the effect. I have some Coleus leaves that I am drying for my own brews. Now.. I may save them for my own use, but do not advocate the use of any substance for others.
The cimorra can be taken as just the san pedro alone, and still have effect without other ingredients.
I can say I have taken coleus before. It seems to me to be no different from an garden herb. It seems to be a kind of herb used in a melange. the effect by its self.. might have to be taken in a very strong decoction, which at times can be dangerous with some plants.
Anyway, best of luck. I love growing coleus . . I have several kinds and colors, myself.
