Should be fine after a rinse. Bake it if you want.

I would just rinse with boiling water but you can stick it on a cookie sheet and bake at 250 for an hour or so, that'll guarantee its safe.

Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this. Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping... Holy fucking shit!

No, it's a type of volcanic glass and very durable.

You can actually bake at 350F...then rinse with tap water afterwards since it has to be hydrated before use.

Boiling water only gets to 212 F. That's why we PC things, to get higher temps. 212 won't kill bacteria.

I just put my SGFC in the shower and rinsed it out really well, sanitizing or sterilizing perlite in my opinion is fucking stupid. it's in an open air chamber with holes in it... as long as it isn't nasty or dirty you're fine, if you let it get nasty or dirty fix that problem

Op had stated it has been sitting outside for two years. Thats long enough for it to need to be sterilized. Also that it has been used. So the bag how ever tightly folded up it is, is still open. I've never sterilized perlite either but I've also always used a brand new bag.

because 5 minutes and 2 years make a difference. if it's clean it's clean rinse it off. you can tell if it's dirty or not. if it looks too bad to use then use your head and wash it or buy new stuff.
