Compost pile misadventures. Will they fruit?

Ok. Here is the story. I've just recently finished up a pftek grow of cambodians, gt, and amazonian. A few of the cakes finished a couple of weeks ago, so I took them and mixed then in with a compost pile that resides in a darker, shaded corner of my property.the compost pile consists of large amounts of dead leaves, tones of grass clippings and some coffee grounds, fruit, etc. Today I took the rest of the cakes out to the pile and dug into it. There was loads of mycelium under the surface! So I dropped the cakes into the pile, covered them up and watered like crazy. I live in south central Canada. What are the chances that if I leave the pile alone, only watering it, that I will get mushrooms out of it? It has been a really cool, wet summer so far.

Your chances are fifty-fifty.
Just don't disturb the pile/mycelium, and water at least every other day.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It's been raining off and on for weeks with a cooler temp. I was totally surprised to see all that growth underneath the surface. I'll supply pics if they fruit. I guess no matter what, the mycelium is breaking down the pile rather quick.

that just benefits you in multiple ways. more fruits, faster compost. if you're lucky and you keep feeding it nutrients you might just have a nice frequent outdoor bed!

Theyll fruit pretty well, but die out when the temps get in the 50s. Leave it be if its raining on and off as ive over watered before my first grow ime trying this. If it doesn't rain for 4 or 5 days give it a light spray with the hose here and there
That said, after a few weeks to do its things and a nice rain, you should see fruits and they're big when grown outdoors. The slugs will get at em really quick so watch them and pick if you see them tearing stuff up.
I made mine with spent substrate and straw and twice I saw some really nice fruits, no huge flushes but if you experiment with using a fresh substrate that hasn't put out fruits and inoculate with those you will definitely see more mushrooms as the substrate isnt tired out and having to go back to vegetative state again. My theory as things worked much faster and better when I used new cake spawn .
Have fun , and let us know how it turns out

Try MHID for ID. But they will need an in focus pic, a possible gill shot, maybe a spore print. . .

I know, I couldn't get any of those. I just found it super hilarius that he posted this when i was tending to my pile, then I found this guy not too long after. an ID is farfetched with this one, I just tore it up and threw it back in.
