That if mescaline didn't cause any significant nausea, as in if you could take a mescaline capsule and not worry, that mescaline would be the most popular psychedelic?

..assuming the supply was the same as mushrooms, acid etc which is the other reason it's not as popular

Probably not considering that it's a long ass fucking trip and most people don't have 24 hours to dedicate to it. Plus the onset takes too long

Shroom trips don't last long enough, just right would be between acid and mescaline length, so 10 hours, acid is 8 and mescaline 12.

Mescaline is extremely uncommon in my area. Ive never come across it yet.
(obviously I could order legal cacti, but yuck)

The only form of Mescaline that I would use, or that I could imagine people like myself would use would be extracts that one could dip sheets into and take it like Acid.
Im not eating fucking cactus and purging.
I dont like the idea of naseua IMO, it isnt worth it. Its like something only that id consider if thats the last psychedelic I had access to in an end of the world type situation.
But some people dont mind nasuea or purging.

Nausea is the biggest negative to mescaline, imo.  If that whole part was eliminated I think I would have enjoyed the experience much more.

ehh not really as another poster said the long duration and slow onset would stop alot of people plus its too gentle for many psychonauts to call it the best. i dont mind the nausea i dont think its that bad i get a little nauseas 3 hours in puke and im good to go. i love mescaline but now i basically only use bridgesii tar or aya. if i want a enjoyable do something fun all day experience ill eat some mescaline but i use aya when i feel the need for an intense experience

Why is the popularity relevant? Alcohol is by far the most popular drug with psychedelic side effects and causes extreme nausea.

Yep.

Mushrooms almost don't seem worth it anymore for me because I eat them and it takes 45 minutes to start feeling it. Then another 1 and 1/2 hours to shake off the hard comeup filled with tension and anxiety, then I peak but it only lasts an hour, then the comedown is another hour.

Eat some harmalas first, it makes it last somewhere between shrooms and acid.

People say acid is too long and shrooms too short. Psilohuasca is the answer.

Great idea.

Take the harmala's how long before the mushrooms?

Or should I eat the mushrooms first then take the MAOI?

same^

I reduce to tar, and scrape and cap it, and I get zero nausea at all.  I have to eat about 20ish gel caps which is a pain, but well worth it.  it can store longer than tea, easier to transport (debatable), and WAY easier to consume.

honestly, I know it's selfish, but I'm pretty glad it's not super popular.  all it's gonna take is one dumbass to ruin it and they'll ban all the active cacti along with lophs.

sweet jesus it's a great molecule though.

I'm definitely gonna do a dlimonene 69ron style extraction in the upcoming few weeks, I can't wait. This will be three years after my first cacti trip in summer 2012 haha

if you have the time, I like the tea coctail.  much more full spectrum

it just takes forever to boil that shit and reduce.

I can do a comparison. I'd likely be doing a full spectrum extraction anyways. I could even make a tea with citric or acetic acid (or both acids) and then reduce and let sit out in the sun? Or dry in the oven? Perhaps that'd be a time consuming but extremely simple full cacti alkaloid extraction?

I just go straight water (I've always used an aluminum pot, so no acids) reduce it in a pot until it gets close to the bottom and gets really thick, pour into a pyrex pan and then throw it in the oven with just the pilot light on for a few days til it dries out , then toss it in the freezer for a few hours to harden it before the scrape.

works like a charm

I'd probably rather do an acid base full alkaloid extraction, or perhaps a pure mescaline extraction in case I wanted to experiment with plugging it, haha

Mescaline nauseas not that bad, if you don't want to puke just take some motion sickness pills or a couple dayura seeds 30mins before drinking your tea. I've only ever puked on mescaline while drinking the tea though, but of you keep it down for atleast an hour you'll still bend that fragile mind quite a bit

Hey Bill, sure man no problem, this is what i do. I cut up the cacuts into small chunks, like your dicing. I throw them into the freezer to get the cell walls broken up for easier extraction. Usually do this overnight. Throw your chunks into the crockpot with some water and fresh squeezed lemon juice, stirring as often as you can, i put the crock pot on low. Let it go for 8-12 hours then strain off the cactus and put it back into the freezer. While your cactus is breaking open some more leave the crock pot on low with the lid off to allow the water to evaporate and youll be left with some beautiful sand like crystals and some dark brown colored goo/taffy. Scrape this up with a razor and store in a mason jar with no light/oxygen. Repeat 2-3 times and you'll have a simple, full proof full alkaloid extraction without worrying about losing anything due to overheating. Throw everything into 00 gel caps and you'll have a clean, full spectrum cactus trip with all the goodies, done in a couple of days.

I can attest to this method and it was an amazing trip with no nausea and my favorite way to ingest cactus.

If I decide to buy a crockpot, lovesquare, I'll definitely be using that method, thanks!

We all need more love, and mainly less hate
Hate is the blind that covers the heart's eye
That makes the heart's eye cry
Locked deep away in the skies of our minds

It's all in the mind

I think it would be more popular, sure.

Imagine shrooms that produced mescaline instead of psilocybin/psilocin. How cool would that be! :omgz:

I love mescaline but shrooms are more versital.

Well worth it my friend, check your local pawn/thrift shops, i found my crock pot there for $10, nice lid and everything low temp sits right around 150 degrees, great for both mush and mesc.

Doesn't make me nauseous, just some initial stomach tenderness. It's a favorite of mine for sure. Could easily see myself working with it primarily from here on out.

Mescaline is definitely a favorite. It ties with LSD for me. Without the nausea it would be the best IMO.

I definitely think that it's ranking depends mainly on 1. How badly does it nauseate you, 2. Do you like the length of the experience, and 3. Do you prefer insane alien ridden trips or relatively mellow, yet immersing experiences?

If I could have the tea experience without the taste and nausea, well that would just be the greatest drug.

The synthetic mesc, extracted mesc experience loses to LSD. But the cactus tea experience trumps lsd.

I agree

Nah mesc is like a super intense one time thing. Did 275 mg peak lasted like 6 of the 8 hours it affected me. Crazy intense, thought I would never come down

I think so. mescaline is soooooo good, but the nausea makes it very problematic.
I love mescaline more then anything else, but I hate that nausea and because of it I trip about once a year nowdays on mescaline
