Mushrooms rotting in the fruiting chamber

i birthed my cakes around a week ago,
everything seemed fine and i kept venting and moisting 3 times a day,
two days ago some little yallow brownish spots appeared on the mycelium around the base of the mushroom.
Some of the mushrooms also have some blue spots on them.
They have a faint rotten smell.
Do you think it is mould? Was it something I did wrong with the venting or the moisting?

you should have dunked your cake in water for 24 hrs before introducing to the fruiting chamber. then you should roll your cake in verm. and those stones are not perlite!! and i cant see holes in your fruiting chamber...it should be 1/4" hole every 2" on all sides including the bottom and the top. the blue color is bruising due to handling or over misting or many other reasons...its normal and it happens.
WATCH the 1st 4 parts of pf tek of RR videos on:www.mushroomvideos.com
the yellow brownish could be bacteria and this could be the reason behind the rotten smell...another one would give you a better answer.

my friend did the dunking but vermiculite is not easy to find in his area (also perlite is hard to find) he did a little research and found that many people use geolite and that the roll is not necessary so i did what i could, he hesitates to dig many holes because the cake feels rather dry, he also picked some fruit and they look blue on the inside an smells a lot.
should he trash everything or he can just remove the rotten fruit, dunk again and try with a properly made fruiting chamber?
not main english speaker so forgive some errors.

Not enough FAE. Those are choking. Also you should put some foil or a lid under the cakes. They are trying to colonize the hydroton and getting waterlogged. You should roll the cakes in verm next time too. Pick those mushrooms now as they ain't gonna get any better and build a proper SGFC for them. Those PMPs are terrible for cakes.

thanks, will try
the problem is the thing must be stealth, you think that if the SGFC was put inside a carboard box it would prevent the FAE ?

Those cubes sure are some rugged sum bitches aren't they, to have fruited in the condition you have them in. But from the looks of it, you did a great job with the first half of your grow which means with a little guidence in the fruiting stage and you should be golden, my friend. So what tek did you follow and what was your sterile procedure?

the super long and thin fruits are a sign that they are stretching out as far as they can to find some fresh air.
More Holes, rocks are fine (but not preferred), no cardboard box.
I've never had to try and hide my FC, so I'm shooting in the dark. Try more holes on bottom & all sides, remove the lid and throw a thin sheet over the entire chamber. Again, now the best method but I think it would work better then what you are doing.

he followed PF tek with BRF using a glovebox sterilized with sprayed bleach, started from spores using petri dishes and then inserting pieces of the colonised agar in the brf, one contaminated out of 9 cakes,
(he found vermiculite in a pet store and used that for the cakes but when he camed back to buy another pack for rolling they haven't got that anymore)
since he couldn't find perlite or vermiculite he did researches on the internet but followed instructions for bulk fruiting chambers because he is new to shrooms and couldn't tell the difference
anyway he is following your istuction now hope the things work out well
he also thought that maybe is better to make a bulk cultivation out of them now because with only four cake remaining and at the second flush it may not be enough harvest for 2 people
also should he polyfill the holes?

Do not polyfil the holes. Click the links that were provided and everything will become a lot more clearer to you. Do you have a garden center from say like a kmart, walmart, ace hardware, lowes, home depot, tractor supply or a southern states near you?

I'm not sure which country you are in, but stating your "Stuffed Walrus" grew these won't do you any good if you get caught with illegal narcotics so there is no point playing that game. The fact they exist in your home (which you share with Mr. Walrus) would be enough.
