Are these subs too dry?
    #21843549 - 06/22/15 09:26 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

This question might be a bit of an oxymoron as we know most people generally dry them out for storage, but since I found them in the ground looking extremely withered, I just thought I'd check to see if there's any reason I shouldn't dry them properly and add them to my jar for later. They don't appear to be contaminated, maybe they dried out before anything else could have a god at them. You'll notice also that I've got some myc butts, that's because the myc was sitting out above ground and I figured I'd try to revive them and get them growing on some cardboard.

Here you can see them still in the ground

Here they are harvested

Cool, I thought they'd be fine but just wanted to be 100% certain. Thanks Hooker.

my self i use scissors because many people say it is best way to go but i remember reading that it makes no difference and real damage is done by walking on mycelium and compressing it all

I've also read this (about not bothering with chopping the stems), but I still feel like a bastard every time I (accidentally) rip a butt out.
