Driving with kids and weed?

My buddy and I had a trip planned to go camping. Long story short his wife fucked some shit up and now we have to take his 3 kids, 14 12 and 3, and drive them to the Grandparents before the trip.
The plan was to bring weed obviously but now I'm stressing and so is he. What would happen in the event we got pulled and for some reason they found the eighth?
Would his kids get taken away? Driving from VA to PA

CPS would probably take the kids away, I imagine.

They have no reason to pull you over if you don't do anything illegal.
A cop seeing a bunch of happy kids is much more likely to trust you.
Unless you are a hippie with shit logs (dreads) on your head, you'll be fine.

The whole CPS involvement thing varies case-by-case. He should be fine especially if he doesn't have a record.

No way in hell I'd do that if there was even a 1% chance of having my boys taken away... one trip wouldn't be worth the risk to me.

Yeah. I mean I'm not too sure about the strictness over there but here you would just be let off with a summons for court. If the cop took your kids away that would just be over kill for weed. It also depends on how much. Since your just going camping, bring your set amount in a sealed mason jar. If you wanted to get crazy you could dip the jar in wax to seal it completely.
there is no difference driving with weed and kids and driving without the weed. I couldn't imagine the cop randomly getting suspicious about anything with 3 kids, no odor, and no warrants or reasoning.

Get high with the children before the ride so you're all on the same page, and explain to them the gravity of the situation.

Well, I'm just saying that this is what trunks are for. Even if you're stopped unless you're retarded they won't search your trunk without a warrant or consent.

You'll be alright, just be a little more cautious than you normally would be.

How far are you driving and through how many states?
Vacuum sealed bags wouldn't be a bad idea.
You could also put it in something that would need a warrant to open..

Act cool and you will be fine, just like 99.99% of the time you drive anywhere.
If you really want to be on the safe side though, ditch the shit rats in the wilderness.

Your being paranoid, put it in your trunk in a sealed container, drive the speed limit. It will be all gravy. Worst case scenario, It's a misdemeanor everywhere I don't think they would take them away but I'm no expert.

I think having the weed is worth risking the kids being taken away.

Would probably depend on his record should you get pulled over and it gets to that point. If he's got a bad record, cops are probably going to go out of their way to fuck with him. If you're both clean as hell and aren't driving high or something, I doubt CPS would be involved.
It's still a possibility, so you have to ask yourself (or rather he does) if it's worth the risk.
How bad do you wanna take the weed? Carry it on your person just in case, then the friend can claim he had no idea in case of a stop.
