Should i still cook this bridgesii?
    #21842349 - 06/22/15 05:00 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

About 4 days ago i skinned and ate some cactus. I only eat the outer green flesh and was planning on saving the innards to boil. Well i forgot to put it in the freezer and 100% forgot about it.

Its now obviously getting old, some parts are still green/white while others have this rust color to them. It smells exactly like how you would expect old bridge to smell. Not bad at all but not normal either.

I have it in the deep freezer and i figure between that and boiling any bacteria should be killed.

I know i make my own choices and the shroomery isnt responsible for me but if you were in my situation would you still cook it?

About 3-4ft worth.

Me personally would give it a go if it's not rotting.

The freezing process killed the cacti and that's why they're discolored, not because they're rotten. Don't be a fool and waste a single inch of that goodness!

On the ground you lay, with your dogs you pray, at a neon hieroglyph sky you gaze

Hugging your mind, praying to survive, feeling the love of the hieroglyphs in the sky
We all need more love, and mainly less hate
Hate is the blind that covers the heart's eye
That makes the heart's eye cry
Locked deep away in the skies of our minds

It's all in the mind

They were not frozen for the 4 days they were in open air, temp dropped down to maybe 65-70F max. I did freeze them just now but they were brown before that

I cut out all the bits that were very brown (actually not much just the strip along the core on a few pieces) and started brewing. So far smells just like standard bridgesii tea. I got this weird feeling this will be the brew that kicks my ass. Hopefully its in the way i want though and not a  :scat: type of way  :dawerp:

Drank the brew 90 minutes ago and got the shits right now. I dont do brews so i dont know if its natural for my body but it happens when i eat the cactus. No bad sickly feeling or anything though.

Well i just want to say so far so good. 3 1/2 after ingestion and there is a definite body high. That classic mescaline joy. Very very slight visuals but i still have some time till the peak. I did not get sick though, so to anybody that might be in my position in the future i say go for it as long as the cactus doesnt have black rot or anything

Yeah i dont doubt it, that was the 4th trip in a row this week but didnt start noticing lessened effects until the 3rd trip. Cacti has this weird way of working even when youre sure it wont.

As far as the trip, i felt good till about 7pm so from ingestion to come down about 10 hours. Not bad for something i was thinking of throwing out.

Right on, I always use the whole cactus so this just reinforces that people shouldn't toss out the core.
