Hello community ! So I spawned 5 full quarts colonized rye berries with a 5 pound(BIG)bag of pasteurized wheat straw and 2 pounds of manure based compost. I spawned the tub on 6/10 and within a week I could see that most of the straw manure mix was colonized with mycelium. I then cased on 6/16.Two days later I place a T5 light bar, cool white, over the top of the tub. Everything has been perfect , however the past couple days I've been misting with a low concentration miss of h2o2 and fanning, trying to initiate pinning. . The mycelium is looks like it's just working thru the casing layer. Maybe I'm jumping the gun, maybe the mycelium need time to consolidate. I'm not sure. It has only been 12 days since swawn. Can anyone help me out and tell me how it looks. I have been a long time reader of the shroomery but recently just made an account so hello everyone

Looks like you will have wheat soon, other than that loosen your poly in your top holes looks like you could use a little more fresh air exchange

You've been doing the exact opposite of initiating pinning...
Lossen the polyfil in your top holes. (you should be able to see through the polyfil on the top holes)

Thanks for the quick response I have one small misting bottle I've been using to spray this tub and my oyster mushrooms. I add 10ml.h2o2 to 8 oz. Bottled water. My casing is premade/bought from outgrow I believe(Amazon prime). The depth of the casing layer was only maybe 1/4 but some little chunks make it a bit thicker like 1/2 inch in some areas like the sides. I tried to get everything as even as I could.

well stop using h2o2 and lets just hope your casing material doesnt contain manure!

Okay , so stop using peroxide-done and increase fae by loosening the polyfil. Should I fan or mist ?

Yeah lightly mist away, && fan as much as possible (6 times an hr if possible )
Evaporation of water droplets on the surface of your casing promotes the formation of primidora

dont fan your monotub like that. you only need to mist it if fae is high, and only time fanning is needed is after a mist.

Thanks mush, spacechild, and Mr fox. Perfect,I drilled 16 -1/2 inch holes around the top portion and lightly packed them w/ polyfil as suggested. I've also done some research as to dialing in your monotub; so I put an oscillating fan in the room as well, which should keep me from opening and re opening to mist/ fan.

All you needed to do was make your poly loose in your top holes, keep an eye on it so it doesn't dry out

Yes, well put. I try to leave monos alone for the most part. If your seeing a clear ring around your poly its getting plenty of air. And maybe a light mist after a day or two right before pinning to initiate knotting and then let it do its thing. Cubes will fruit very easily if you dont fret or play with them too much. Sometimes it takes a few days, most of the time itll take about a week to ten days after full colonisation and being put into fruiting. Add a few days if you case.
That said, if you were growing Panaelous, what Mr. Fox said would be valid... Fanning around 5 to 7 x a day is a good idea. Although ive never mono tubbed Pans , its next on my list and currently in the works so we'll see how that goes.
