Can I re-inoculate a rye berry bag if it doesn't start colonizing?
    #21840675 - 06/22/15 05:24 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I have 5 pre sterilized grow bags that I inoculated with MS syringe. They are 2 quart bags. Only 1 out of the 5 bags have mycelium. 1 has a ton of condensation, and the rest have mild condensation.

I inoculated 6/8. If I see no growth by July 8th for the other bags, can I just inoculate them again?

condensation usually means there is temp difference, which would probably mean there is some kind of heat generating life in there…  i would shake them up, see if u see mold or growth.

if i get a lot of condensation in my bags, and the room temp is not cooler than normal, i usually will get green shortly after.

You can, but you probably wont have to.  I just did a 6 bag grow, and 4 of the bags didnt show any myc for about 3 weeks if not 4. The other 2 had mycelium within 3 days.  Same grow, same technique, same conditions.

Blindingleaf - So you'd massage the bag thoroughly and then again when/if it reaches 30% colonization?

Misiu007 - did you shake your bags up at all during those 3-4 weeks?

If I was wondering what was growing inside, then yea, I would massage it to make sure it's not mold.
If ur grains are well sterilized and innoculant is clean, u can shake Shit all week if u want to

No, i didnt shake them up until they were about 50% colonized, and only because colonization was slowing down or stalling.  I think it tooks 7 weeks for those bags to fully colonize, which is pretty long.
