4th flush, I had tossed it in the garage a week ago and was going to throw it out.
Is it true the potency drops in the later flushes?

I've never noticed a difference.  Maybe your magic poo just supercharges your first flush somehow so when the other ones are "normal" it seems bad?  Heh.  With coir I've found them mostly all the same across flushes.  I think poo is significantly more readily digestible for mycelium is probably why.  Coir is to mushrooms, probably much like the equivalent of straight carbohydrates to us.

Well i quit running 2nd flushes years ago. But from other's experiences I've read here, later flushes aren't as potent.

Lately I've been getting such ridiculous first flushes that the sub wants to just go night night and die afterwards. At least this is how my PE clone is acting.

I suppose that's not a big issue though.

Excited to see how yours and rico's acts.

I just got 5 syringes in from sw just to prove to you it's not genetics. Weird, i haven't obtained pe spores from anyone but myself in years. Get your notepad out.

That's not been my experience at all. I have also read people say that but while I don't often go further than three, my third flush fruits are in no way diminished.

As am I. Tho to be honest if you haven't used any spores but your own for years then it would follow that it could be genetic. I would be interested to see what would happen if you didn't case your old spore line. From my conversations with some old hands, non blobbing old school PE did not require a casing to prevent blobs.

Update on my outside contaminated pe tray.

question: I have another contaminated tray that I put outside next to this one^^^ but it only had one mushroom and a slug in it. I have removed the slug on many occasions but it just just keeps coming back. This morning the fucker is in there again but this time the mushroom is gone. Do slugs eat mushrooms?

I know it's a long shot because of how shit the pics are, but does this look like a contam?

I used a spore syringe, and the water got moved around quite a bit, so it could just be mycelium everywhere. This is my first time working with agar though, so I really don't know. The jars inoculated with the same syringe colonized fine and didn't have any visible contams.

Well atleast it decided to attack the tray with only one mushroom. next time i'll just sprinkle some broken egg shells around the trays.

Looks like mold mycelia,
Next time put a divot into the surface to keep the spore solution from "running"

if you can, a thin line of salt would do it, but I guess it gets washed away real easy, so not always suitable.

you can also put raw porridge oats around it, and they'll eat that instead (then burst)

alternatively, there will never be a shortage of slugs so you could always apply boiling water liberally (to the slug, not the tray)
I understand if respect for all living creatures prevents you from doing this. it did me for a few years until lots of my garden was chomped by the bastards!

Thanks for the advice. I think I may try the salt or something of that nature.
