Lol! Sheesh, everyone gets so serious. They're good mushies, I like to fuck around I figured you guys knew that by now.
I really don't have an ego. I've grown less than 100 tubs in a little over the year I been growing. I still learn everyday. I might as well leave shroomery if I have to be all articulate 100% of the time lol

2 pf cakes + straw ;-)
the only downside of monotubs is you cannot see the beautiful shrooms everyday as easily, only when you harvest
pftek FCs are much more fun there and still give plenty fruits

pftek is continuous birth and harvest
but of course you could continuously harvest with monotubs, if you have many!
love pftek even though the yields are small, they're bigger than you could use yourself if you do it right, and big enough for a friend or 2 to trip as well

Pf tek is boring. I recently did a dozen cakes using some very good isolated clone cultures. I thought it would be fun cause I havent grown cakes in while.
1. They take forever 2. Even with a proper FC and good mistimg shedule they are finicky and tempermental. Hard to dial in perfect. 3. The fruits just dont rival those from a bulk sub. The cakes just cant support big mushrooms clusters easily IMO.
The only upside to cakes is they are quite hard to fuck up. Ive never ever lost a cake to contams...I always just toss them when they go spent. BRF is pretty forgiving to dirty syringes

You obviously haven't done LC. LC makes a pfcake colonize in 1-2 weeks max or so
Half the time or less of normal is not unusual...
I would say they colonize too fast for me ;-)
There are many benefits of pftek to me: it doesn't prevent me from doing bulk Pftek is a very good starting ground for doing bulk too, coir or straw
Pftek is easier to prepare than grains often for me

I don't think he used spores. LI or LC is my guess.

I used a grain GE lid in place of dry verm layer and inoculated directly with agar wedge.
I know all about LC . Personally, its not my prefered method. I have used it, LC inoculated with agar wedge, but to me the problems that can arise from LC dont outweigh the benifits.
I inoculate pint masters with agar wedge, G2G into 4.5qt spawn bag to spawn tubs w 5qts each.
Regardless of what I inoculate cakes with I always find them pretty slow compared to grains. I think cakes are pretty impractical spawn if you own a PC

Speaking about problems....
I got a giant coir block that has Trich added, smells like trich like 5ft away
I'm not bringing that one into my house...
Somehow I had like 10 petris getting trich suddenly, demotivated me a bit

The first time I ever tried pf tek was when I wanted to try out a clone. I used LI and the cakes colonized in under 10 days. It was pinning before any consolidation period and when I birthed them, they fucking exploded. I think they are just right for testing out clones and isolates but that's about it.

Youll be fine if you pasturize it dude, trich dies at very low temp. Even bucket tek will sort you out nicely

Yup, I was more worried about the trich spreading through the whole house...
It smells of trich far away
When I bought it I had like 10-15 petris go bad with green mold... never happened before, 0 contam before
Could be a coincidence though, but it was all along the outer rim of the petris , on all of them
Need better sterile procedure but it really got me demotivated ;-)
