Yes, Koods....A lot of us had pet raccoons we found as babies when I was young and, even though they were friendly....We all got bit when they reached sexual maturity....they change. One buddy of mine used to carry his around on his shoulder...fucker ripped into his face one day for no apparent reason...required several stitches...I, myself had to get the rabies vaccine after being bit by a coon.

Yeah, she's bitten me a few times and latched on pretty good. Shes got some needle sharp teeth. The only time she bites hard is when she's hungry. I belive that once her appitite is less intense she'll stop. I'll be spending a lot of time training her so hopefully it goes well. I usually just let nature do its thing, but when she started wobbling up to me and squeaking I just couldn't leave her there. She was definitely in trouble and momma mink never came.

Honey mushrooms? IDK. You know better than post ID requests in the ovoid thread.

Damn! Nice Pete! I checked my spot today and nothing was going on. I found one lonely pin, maybe it's done for the year. Ah well, it was an awesome first season, had a ton of fun exploring, pretty decent harvest and was able to help out an awesome animal.

Dauber you are just in tune with nature this year. First the ovoids jump out at you and now a baby mink decided you were going to adopt her! That's so cool! I've only been lucky to see 2 in the wild, but each time they scurried away before I could get my cam ready. Hope it all works out for you with the domestication process.
@Peteza34, You got the spot that just won't stop!!
@divo, nice pics!
Haven't been back out to the ovoid spots and most likely won't until after the first frost. I did get a chance to put the colonized pieces of wood out along an area I hike frequently. Stuck them right up next to the base of a decent sized box elder. Will document their progress the next couple weeks and see if anything happens. They've been in the fridge for about 2 weeks now, so I'm guessing this should be like a spring warmup for them. If they don't happen to fruit within the next month however, I'll just end up putting some food around them and hope for the best.

I prefer coon hound over coon. It's been so dry in the PNW not much successful Hunting going on. You guys were killing it. It was nice following your thread. Thanks.

I did a shits and giggles experiment last week of an exhausted print that I made spore syringes form. I couldn't throw away the piece of foil even though I couldn't see a visible print any longer I knew there were still more spores on it.
I know this is the finding ovoid in 2015 thread just bare with me.
I took said foil in a bottle of water shook it up took the foil out and added cardboard. 7days later I rested.... And there it was white gold. I'm shocked because nothing about this shits and giggles experiment was sterile.
Just thought I'd share real quick.

Very cool.
I think with cardboard you don't have to worry as much about contams as with grains.
