I finished Better Call Saul last weekend, but it's only now starting to hit me that it's over.

:icecreamsadness:

God I'm going to miss that show.

I just finished Ozark. It was entertaining for the most part. It didn't make my all-time favorites list...but I definitely didn't hate it. There were a few times when I started to get burned out on it, but I'm glad I stuck with it to the end.

I'd say 6/10.

I also just recently finished Outer Range on Prime Video. I was excited for it -- it looked trippy, had a fantastic setting, starred Josh Brolin who's solid. And one of my favorite underrated actresses in Imogen Poots (Poots lol).

Yet I ended up pretty much hating it. I pretty much disliked every character in it. Including Imogen's character. I also felt that the acting performances were...subpar. Everyone felt off.

I suffered through it until the end but if it survives to see a season 2, I can't imagine I'll be there to continue it.

3/10

Not that anyone really cares but my favorites list (in recent memory) is:

- Goliath (starring Billy Bob Thornton; Amazon Prime Video)
- Narcos & Narcos Mexico (Netflix)4
- What We Do in the Shadows (FX/Hulu)
- Snowfall (FX/Hulu)
- Taboo (starring Tom Hardy; FX/Hulu)
- Maniac (starring Emma Stone & Jonah Hill; Netflix)
- Devs (starring Nick Offerman; FX/Hulu)
- Yellowstone (starring Kevin Costner; Paramount)
- The Terror (FX/Hulu)
- Better Call Saul (AMC)
- Breaking Bad (AMC)

I'm probably forgetting some. The Sopranos should be on that list, but I'm talking more recently in the last 5-10 years. True Detective season 1 was absolutely incredible (imo), but season 2 was a disaster. It rebounded with a strong season 3 though. Some of those on my list were very short too as far as series go, as some of them were mini-series that were meant to wrap up after one season (Devs, Maniac, Taboo).

Sorry for the long poast

:tldr:

I thought Ozark was great. Just finished second time through, because I watch when I get home from the bar on weekends, and see some parts for the first time while watching the second time.

I still haven't quite finished Better Call Saul. I find it kind of strange because many of the scenes he's in are comedy and the rest isn't. I guess I like the criminals from Breaking Bad better than I like Saul. Mike is a great character.

I'm just getting into ZeroZeroZero on Amazon. Queen of the South on Netflix was pretty good. Amazon has the first 4 of 6 seasons of Billions. It's kind of cheesy, but still kept my interest, and has some great musical selections. I always liked Peaky Blinders on Netflix. In the final season there was a void left because Helen McCrory died during the break, and she was the most important female character. Tom Hardy was a semi-regular character with impressive voice acting.

Just finished season 2. It's odd, loved the first season, then tried to immediately start 2 and felt completely turned off and proceeded to forget about it for years. Randomly tried it again and got sucked in. I wouldn't give it a 10, probably an 8, but there's a lot to like about it. Charming. It's very charming and well done.

Yeah Mike was a fantastic character. A plus character.

Yeah I liked ZeroZeroZero. That cartel guy, the one who was ex-Mexican special forces, was based off a real life cartel guy who was also ex-Mexican special forces. In fact I think he founded the infamous Los Zetas cartel.

I gotta give that another shot. I didn't give long enough. And I'm a big Tom Hardy guy -- he's probably my favorite actor of this generation. I mean I know he's just a semi-regular character but still.

I'm getting into City on the Hill. Started it yesterday in the afterhours. Before they got to the opening credits I'm thinking they got a guy who looks like Kevin Bacon doing a Kevin Bacon impersonation. So I do most TV watching at some level of inebriation; It was Kevin Bacon. It seems to be a good crime drama with quite a few recognizable actors.

I was only supposed to get Showtime for the free week but will now pay for a second month.

If nothing else, fast forward to his parts. I think he starts in season 2. Did you see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy? Hardy has an interesting scene or two in the early sections. Most people say they can't understand the movie. I read the book a zillion times.

I thought the female lead in Zero Zero Zero was very good.

It was also interesting that in the last season of Ozark, the woman playing Navarro's sister was the same actress who played a cartel boss in Queen of the South, but without the makeup needed to be attractive in late middle age.

I think I may start Peaky Blinders back up tonight. And no I didn't see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Is that on Netflix? I don't know why I never saw it. I heard very good things about it. Honestly I didn't even know Tom was in it...

I just finished Atlanta on FX/Hulu. Comedy with some drama sprinkled in about a kid who's managing his rapper cousin. Honestly before I started it I didn't think it would be my type of show, but I'll be damned if it didn't end up as one of my favorites. It got more and more trippy as the show progressed, too. GREAT stoner show.

And then I got completely caught up on What We Do in the Shadows. A comedy about vampire roommates, lol. Sounds stupid. And it is...but in the greatest way possible. I adore this show. The cast is so perfect together.

Comedies are usually not the first thing I gravitate to when it comes to series and movies but these two I absolutely loved.

From 7/10 S1
Reminds me of lost but horror version. Travelers get stuck in a town, when they try to drive down the only road they always get back to the town. At night human looking creatures try to kill them.

Battlestar Galactica 9/10

Righteous gemstones 7/10
About a rich televangelist preachers family pretty funny over the top comedy.

Freaking LOVED Mindhunter.

Right now I'm watching 1883, which is a spinoff of Yellowstone. It's the story of the brutally unforgiving journey of settlers and immigrants going west from Texas through the great plains towards Wyoming & Montana.

Starring Sam Elliot, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and LaMonica Garrett. Tom Hanks and Billy Bob Thornton have made cameos, which was pretty cool. I like it. 7/10 so far through half of the season.
