Is this Panaeolus cinctulus?

Habitat: Found in a lawn.
Gills: Very dark gray (almost black).
Stem: About 2-3 inches long. Brownish in color. Long, slender and hollow. Pretty sturdy.
Cap: Starting very dark around the edges and becoming a light brown towards the center. The largest is maybe a half inch in diameter, while the smallest is more like a centimeter.
Spore print color: Jet black (this is why I think this is Panaeolus cinctulus).

Bruising: None that I can see.

in my opinion you have found Panaeolus fimicola or Panaeolus olivaceus, microscopy would be needed to look at the spores to see if they are roughened or not.

Alright thanks. According to Wikipedia both of these species can contain small amounts of psilocybin also. Are these very commonly used?

I doubt it's either of those species.
They look like good Panaeolus cinctulus to me.
The stem, gills, cap, and print all look very very much like cinctulus.
Wait for a TI to be sure, but my money is on cinctulus

I say there's a good chance for this.

I don't think so. One thing is they're probably very weak, the other is I hardly think many people would bother to scope the amount needed for a decent experience.

Looks like one of the active grass dwelling Panaeolus sp. The color is a little off for P.cinctulus so maybe they are one of the species Fennario mentioned.

Okay. I appreciate all the quick replies! It looks like there is a split of opinion on these (with TI's leaning toward not cinctulus). So allow me to ask the next obvious question... Would you guys ingest these (you know, just to be sure)? lol

I wouldn't bother. Even if they were P. cinctulus it wouldn't do much, if anything. You'd need much more.

Hello. Sorry for writing here but I am new to this site. I just went on my first hunting today and I found these and I thought they might also be panaeolus cinctulus. Anyone could help me?

Those are Hypholoma fasciculare. Toxic - not active.
