Yes toss that mess. I'm not sure why you think it looks good. No offense but that is easily one of the worst things I have seen on these boards in a while. Coco coir is basically coconut husk that has been shredded. Anything fitting that bill is good to use.

Yes, coco peat is basically the same. I think it has a different texture, but it's the same stuff and the texture matters little to the mushrooms.
Yes, definitely toss the box. There is a 0% chance that will make it.

Im sorry if im bothering you guys but follow up question, i had two more jars and i just ope ned them to place them in my peat-verm mix. When i opened them there was a shhh sound as the air came in cus this was the first time i had opened them but the smell was quite overpowering on them as well. They were sealed and heated, opened for 5 seconds to put the agar in, and sealed again. Idk if they are contaminated as well, im just really cautious now. They had rye in them but i was sanitary when handling it. Would anybody know if they were contaminated? Or the chances of them being contaminated?

Do you have vent holes on your lids?? sounds like you put solid lids on the jars which is a no-no. Drill 1/4 holes and stuff with polyfill. The growth needs the breathe or it will die. You need to read up on all the teks.

Those definitely look bad, yes. But if it smells bad, it's definitely bad. Bacteria are like the number one cause of every smell you find repulsive: stinky vag, smelly feet, rotten fruit, rotten cheese, rotten mushrooms (I hope you don't ever smell that), rotten meat, corpse smell, shit, vinegar and so on.

To be frank I would like to know what tutorial said it was okay to spawn to grains and flour in open air. I think you have been following bullshit destined to fail. You need to do some good reading if you want success. If you have one print left that's enough to make 20 syringes or inoculate 1000 agar plates. If the print is a clean one, some of those attempts should work provided you find a proper tek and stick with it.
Seems you want to do bulk. Your best bet is to learn agar and go to grain with that. But no matter what your going to need a PC and follow some decent grain prep methods. It sounds like you literally need to forget everything you have read so far. When I get to a computer i will throw a link up.

You have pretty poor odds of getting anything from that tub. I'd take the colonized parts, throw them in a food processor with some water and make a slurry. Then I'd use that to inoculate some old horse manure in an outdoor bed. You could even use Black Kow or Bovung (available at Home Depot) if you can't find aged horse manure. I've never used coir but I guess you could add that, too. And also some vermiculite if whatever you mix up is too gooey.
Make the bed in a shady place and don't let it dry out. Don't waterlog it, either. You may get nothing or you might get a nice flush. With an outdoor bed you at least have a shot at getting something.

He doesn't have enough colonization to super spawn, even outdoors. A slurry is going to weaken everything to the point where I doubt it manages to survive. Yes you can get some fruits by tossing a contamed sub outside but ya need something healthy at least.
OP you need to read a few things. I suggest you start here. Keep in mind that agar is to inoculate grains. Grains and agar must be kept perfectly sterile. Colonized grains are used to spawn to bulk. Bulk materials should be pasteurized (except for coir).

I guess you're right. When I tried it in a similar situation all I got was this:

Oh, I'm sure that I caused that because B+ isn't native to New York. I also hear that they grow like that naturally in Florida (but maybe that's just a rumor?)

Coco peat is pretty much coir without the fibers. It's probably similar in composition but it has a diferent consistency and is more commonly used as a casing layer ingredient than a bulk substrate.

The point your missing is that you need to have actual mycelium for that to work. So far the OPs sub appears to be devoid of cube myc. Certainly none healthy enough to support super spawning. If he had a spot of trich on an otherwise healthy sub then cool beans it would be a good plan. But I didn't see any cube myc whatsoever in his substrate. So yeah maybe he has a few hyphea floating in there. It certainly won't be enough to overcome the hoards of bacteria and mold that are currently owning it.
