Hey shroomery. Im sorry if this is a repost and I could have googled this but I have been meaning to make a shroomery account for years seeming so much good advice has come my way from here. So this is my first post, hope everyones had a sick weekend.
My question is about the shrooms swim has grown they have golden teacher and mexican strains at this point in time. Swim has tested both out and have noticed both are different but equally good (even though not as good as the gold tops swim had when they were younger). But my question is after harvesting some of the mexican a couple of days ago swim noticed the remainders stopped growing. So swim haas just devoured them along with some golden teachers. But when doing so swim noticed they were black and blue on the insides of the stems.
Shouls swim be worried about being poisoned or is it all good?
ETA 5 minutes.

When psilocin is in the presence of oxygen, it begins to degrade. It's normal, they're fine and you have nothing to worry about.
oh and Johnnyganja GROWS ACTIVE MUSHROOMS, not swim. It's okay, nobody cares.

Thanks in that case ill finish them off . I found the mexicans alot stronger than the golden teacher. They were 1/4 of the size but alot more potent. Even though they took 3x as long to grow.

Potency comes from a combination of genetics, nutrition and environmental conditions, in that order. So if you are not working with an isolate, change substrates or don't have fruiting conditions dialed in, results will vary.

Im not sure what substrate im using. I bought these ready to go type kits from the other side of the planet and theyve delivered pretty nicely with ease. Setting up jars and using syringes doesn't seem like a good move on my part at the moment seeming some of my housemates might have something to say about it. I just have them in a spot that gets morning sunlight with a heater on them 24/7 since its winter and doesnt get above 20 degrees at the moment.
These have done well with multiple flushes already so I might just get another kit from the same people for futuristic shrooms.

Be careful growing in a house with people that may not approve, it may not end well.
just in case you change your mind about growing from scratch rather then a kit, here are some useful things to get you started.

Yeah it's old school but still highly efficient and easy to follow which is the reason why it's still a popular choice for beginners. I kind of wish I wasn't so stubborn and would have swallowed my pride and began with that pf tek in the beginning. For some reason though, I always want to try to hit the ground running.
