fruiting sclerotia species, when, what to use?

can i fruit a sclerotia species after like 4 months or something so i can collect a good amount of stones and fruits? can i just spawn to CVG using the same ratios 1:1-2 and add a top layer of the same sub? or its better to case it? what is the difference in the final yields?

u can spawn that shit after 6+ months if u want. i collect stones, then spawn the grains left over, it will grow more stones in bulk.
cron got mexicana to fruit really well off CVG. i would use poo or straw or both personally, and case with peat.
look up user "stone sun" and he has a sclerotia write up thats the tits, anything u wanna know is in there.

Yea, it's happened with tamp, atl, and mex, I think it senses the additional water from the bulk, and "stocks up" so to speak.
Even when the grow failed to fruit, I would still get stones in the bulk.
U don't need to wait for stones either to spawn, u can spawn at 100%

Wonder what would happen if you harvested stones, did a long soak on the grains and dried let them dry well, and stuck em back in a bag?
Bacteria city?
I've always wanted to g2g some tamp spawn to a sterile bag of coir and let that mofo sit for 6 months

You have a couple options.
As mentioned, you can spawn to bulk. Plain coir has worked well for me. CVG is essentially the same.
You could also pick your stones and then case your grains straight in a mini-mono type setup.
The grains are fully colonized so you don't have to worry so much about contaminations. Still, I'd use gloves sanitized in iso when I pick the stones if I were you.
In the future, I recommend you skip the stone phase all together. You'll get better fruits by going straight from 100% colonization to fruiting. Stones are bunk. And after you spawn to bulk the stones will have some coir or whatever bulk substrate you use in them. The fruits are much more worth the effort, imo.

is there is a big difference in yields between using straight coir/CVG and 50/50 casing? and if iam spawning to cvg should i apply top layer?

What do you mean "stones are bunk" ?

people say that its weaker than mushroom! less visual. i know spent coffee but what is the half strength coffee liquid you use when you soak the millet? and lets say iam using cvg as a bulk sub should i apply a top layer from this sub?

I got the best results on cvg by casing at 100% and immediately fruiting. Stonesun does the same for all his grows and his instructions are kind of the gold standard of good stone producers.

I mean they are garbage compared to the fruits. The only reason I can see to grow them is for the novelty of 'em the first time or for a stealth grow. The fruits are where its at.

I never had bunk stones. Even when I don't use coffee on soak. Maybe it's dumb luck.
Do you have a pic of the grow u mentioned with cvg?

Actually, I got rid of my smartphone a few months back... pics and all. I was on the damn thing more than not so I decided to make a life change after eating aforementioned fruits.
I have 6 quarts of atl going now on wbr and a few master milo jars I will g2g for an outdoor attempt. It is about to be monsoon season though, so I don't know with all the rain that is in store.
I was going to just straight case grains, but I will spawn 3 quarts to cvg at the end of this week (hopefully 100% by then) if you are curious. I guess I'll have to borrow someone's camera though.

sure! I will do 3 quarts spawned and 3 quarts cased grains. Lets see what happens. A friend already said I can borrow his old smartphone for a few weeks to take pictures. I will be fruiting at 100% colonization for both. No consolidation and no waiting for stones first.
Can I update on this thread?
