Hello,
I'm contemplating ordering some P.Viridis cuttings. I was thinking of just getting seeds but after reading that they germinate very slow, I figured out it would be better to just get some cuttings.
Is it legal for me to order some cuttings in California ?
I just want to avoid problems, I just really would love growing a Psychotria Viridis. Thanks

It is against the rules to ask for sources here, that said to the best of my knowledge the plant itself is not illegal, so you can go ahead and order the cutting/leaf without worrying, it only becomes a problem when you start extracting from the plant.
I am not an expert, google your local laws to cover your own ass, but I am 99% sure this is the case.

Its legal in cali but risky.
If there is any proof you intend to do an extraction you will get in a big legal fight like bouncing bear botanicals did with the DEA.
Even a funnel or acetone can be misconstrued as manufacturing paraphernalia
The USDA doesnt have any restrictions on the plant itself but could have pest/soil restrictions on the country it is coming from if they are currently having problems there.

Would it be "safer" to order seeds instead of cuttings ?

In terms of shipping restrictions yes because soil is the primary conscern for over the border ag products.
In terms of being a deemster.
A paper trail is a paper trail. If they want you they will find you

As long as you're not ordering them in bulk, there isn't a problem. When people order things in bulk, others would assume you're using them for bad reasons. Someone could honestly be ordering many, to just grow them, and sell them, especially if you got them for a good price!
People are getting looked at negatively for growing their own veggies, and/or living off the grid. We are living in some troubling times. Having your own individuality and not conforming to the system of things, makes you a "criminal".. while at the same time, the real criminals are in positions of power, and make the rules in which we are ordered to follow. Totally living in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

World Seed Supply sells Viridis still I think and they are a trusted sponser/venodr as well It's where I got my plant from and it's growing ok in the ground but I'll probably try the leaf rooting to try different spots to grow it in see if it likes other places better. They also ship from whithin the usa so doesn't go through customs... I believe the cuts are grown in florida too.
