I've been searched going into a concert before but it was a private employee, a girl luckily and I didn't mind. Cops are a different animal and the concert can not give them permission to search you, pris and others are wrong about that. No one has said the concert people make you let the cops search before you can get in, someone made that up. It was cops by the side of the road bullying people on their way.
I will just say no, go ahead and get your warrant, if they threaten to trash the car thoroughly, which is their usual extortion tactic, I say I will put in a claim with the local judiciary for damages with photos taken. I realize they can simply shoot you and make up a story but with witnesses all around and no excuses, they would have to be insane to do anything like that. They can arrest you on false charges and you can sue them.
Its a much bigger hassle for them than for you, anyone who calmly stands up for their rights gets a grudging bit of respect from the pigs and normally goes right on in with no search. Know your rights, proclaim them and do not back down.
Good luck with that with Tennessee cops on the prowl at Bonnaroo. I knew a guy who pulled that, he didn't have anything on him, cops pulled him over for nothing and tried to search his car going in, he refused.. they called the dogs (which were like 50 feet away).. they triggered a fake alert and falsely arrested him while they tore his car to shreds. They couldn't find anything illegal in his car which pissed them the fuck off, they ended up giving him like 3 tickets for some bullshit. I'm pretty sure he told me they knocked out his rear tail light while searching and then gave him a ticket for that. They also fucked the interior of his car up, he tried to sue them later for damages but it got completely shut down.
Most people don't get that lucky, since most people are carrying.
You can think you can flex your rights, but they don't give a single fuck about your perceived rights. Cops are above the law don't you know?
If you think you're going to sue the cops later on and get your money back.... real good luck with that too.
It's a much bigger hassle for them than for you? WTF are you even talking about? It's their bread and butter... they are fucking over clueless out of staters who mostly don't have the capital to fight them. They have virtually unlimited resources to fight in court, you don't. And the courts almost always side with the cop.
You might get lucky if you have some good lawyers, and maybe a few years later you might get some of the damages back if you are really lucky. But don't think for a second that's standard. Most people just get fucked. Many cops don't operate on the law, they will do whatever the fuck they can do make a bust.. it's all income generation for them.. and bonnarroo is their fucking cash cow.
The much safer bet is just staying the fuck away from Bonnaroo.

just be quiet and if your drugs are hidden well like they shud be, you wont have a problem

So we should all just lay down and take whatever shit the cops, private business and others want to dump on us? That's what I hear some people saying. In the past people had some backbone, they didn't trade wimpy stories about someone who got their car trashed because they stood up for their rights. If you lot were in charge back in 1776 we would still be a vassal state of England taking orders and being their bitch.
Even after I explained the difference, you people confuse being patted down when you go into a concert with allowing the cops to search you and your vehicle. Those are two separate and different things. Even at the door, if the ticket does not say you must allow the pat down, they can't do it. Yes they can deny you entrance and you can sue and ask to make it a class action. That can be very very expensive.
If you are going to stand up, do it and get a lawyer if and when you need one. If no one stands up for their rights, like some in this thread, then we have no rights. Rights are either exercised or lost, use it or lose it indeed.
If they said you had to lie down and get pissed on, someone would probably say you better do it or they won't let you in or will trash your car and give you a ticket.

I don't think you get the point. Even if you assert your rights... they don't give a single fuck and in most cases that gives them even more suspicion to fuck with you.
I'm talking about real world scenarios here based on experience. Not some idealistic fantasy in which you tell the cops "I don't consent to a search" and they just go oh ok.. have a nice day then!
You can exercise your rights..but when it's a tyrannical cop seething with power.. that's not going to stop them from shit, in actual reality. And if you are going to get a lawyer, you're going to be fighting a long ass court battle in most cases, sometimes taking years. You will end up spending more time and resources fighting it then it was worth in most cases.
We don't live in 1974, where most police are "just" and fair and just enforcing the laws, and cops are held accountable for their crimes and abuse of power. They do what the fuck they want, and get away with it most of the time. See any number of youtube videos for examples. People asserting their rights and then the cop busts their window open and assaults them and arrests them. It doesn't matter if it's legal or not, they do what the fuck they want.

Good thing you are a mod so you can call people names with no consequence.
>you can refuse the search and they can refuse you entry
If it states somewhere on the ticket, etc that you must submit to a search then they have that right. Buying a ticket is a contract and if they don't honor their end, they are in violation and can be sued. They can't simply make up stuff after you get to the door.
>neither has a right to search you and you can refuse with either
Finally something correct.
>wow, really? they can just drag you out of the car and shoot you on the spot?
That is pretty pathetic. If you worry about that then stay under the bed all day. Bullies get bolder and more abusive the more their victims don't fight back and just lay down and take it. Some even encourage other victims not to fight back. We are a nation of laws, not a nation of cops making up the laws as they go along and doing whatever they please.
Every year cities, police departments, and private businesses are forced to pay big bucks for violating peoples rights. Cops get fired and even jailed for less than what you tell us they will do if you have the nerve to speak up. Obviously you never speak up. Except here of course.

Except here of course.
you have no idea what youre talking about
keep melting tho lol

Know your rights, proclaim them and do not back down.
if you say no you dont go to the festival lol
get real dude...the shit you just said is laughable
then you just come back an hour later

that's not how any of this works
cops dont gain probable cause based on a denial of search, private security guards have no need for probable cause. yes cops will try to intimidate you but none of that is new to anyone
No, they don't gain probably cause based on denial of search. But that doesn't stop them from calling the dog and triggering a false alert to give them probable cause.

you seriously think theyll let you keep your tickets? lol
if someone pulled that, they would be arrested on false charges and everyone knows it
also at bonnaroo if you go to the back of the line you just lost hours of your life, but theyd take your ticket anyways

what name did I call you?

this is completely false, it doesnt have to state it on the ticket, it can be inconspicuously at the venue, it can be on their website, it can be at the ticket seller, it can be posted anywhere and just because it say is, it doesnt mean you have to submit to a search, you can refuse that search by the venue and as such you can also be refuse entry.
now, is that ticket a contract or is it merely a receipt that allows you admission, seems you have more to read because contract law is a little more in depth than you seem to believe

once more, read my original post because both posts I have made in this thread said the same thing but under your earlier claim

you're the one claiming that cops can just shoot you and make some shit up to justify it. why would you spread such erroneous information and then push it off as someone being fearful unless you were trying to be a fear monger... oh yeah, because you dont know anything about what you're talking about
let's refresh everyone's memory

2 questions
1. what businesses have violated a person's rights and what were the rights violated
2. what exactly have I told people that they will do, whom ever they is
