Day 7 after MS inoculation, jars were shaken.
 Day 12
 Day 15.
I made some 30l mini monos last night and also took some grain from one of these jars to agar. Have 35lbs rye waiting to be soaked soon.
May update at a later date. Peace

So I decided to spawn today. 5050 coir tek, though I needed 8 quarts boiling water to get the brick to fully expand. The mix was a little muddy towards the bottom so I simply squeezed out most of the water before applying the casing layer to cover the exposed grain. I ran out and was only able to cover two of the three bins with a casing layer and have one tub with exposed grain, but I'm not too concerned.
I'm pretty excited, this will be my first attempt at mono tubs. I've been reading a lot and I think I've got things figured out, for the most part. Now that I'm getting into agar, I will have plenty to do while these tubs colonize.

Just getting into agar? Have you found it an easy transition? I'd love to get into agar soon.

most of the people say: you dont need a top layer for cubes. how many spawn jars you use per tub. how did you build your tub (hole placement, size...etc...)?

It's pretty easy stuff, though I am very much a novice with only a small handful grows. I'm not very familar with all the different recipes with agar and how to tweek nutrients to get rhizo growth. I've only done a single transfer so far and am waiting on some larger samples to pull from before making another. I still feel I have a lot to learn yet and will continue to research as this has become one of my only hobbies lately. I'm just glad I can enjoy the fruits of my labor.

2 quarts spawn per tub. I used the five hole staggered, one inch apart on the top short sides, 1.25 inch holes about 4 inches from the bottom on the long sides.

Being my first attempt at these mini monos, I'm not sure if I will need to. I will have to wait until I get the holes stuffed with poly in order to dial in everything.

Cool thanks! And thanks for your candor too- I'm just a little inimidated by it is all- but I remember one fruit that I wish I had cloned so badly! Just one fast growing, completely solid stem, beautifully formed cap- extremely amazing experience for such a small amount of wait (compared to what I usually do). I'm so happy to be back in this hobby, it's such a beautiful, intricate, and sometimes shocking experience.

I covered the exposed grain of this tub today for peace of mind. Simple coir/verm mix zapped in the microwave for about 8 minutes.
