Long hiatus, but shitake blocks are fruiting! * 1
    #21827744 - 06/19/15 11:18 AM (8 years, 7 months ago)

After a stupid busy winter and spring, I found three shitake blocks that I had completely written off.

Figured it couldn't hurt to throw them in the fruiting chamber.  4 days later I have this

Awesome! They were just extra consolidated

I cant wait to try growing shiitake :crazy2:

Is that a specific variety? I got some shiitake 75 in a trade so I'm curious how well certain isolated strains perform compared to others.

Yeah I'd say they're extra consolidated alright.  I think I mixed these blocks up in early December.  They've been sitting on the back of a shelf in my lab closet the whole time.  Yay neglectful success!

Not 100% sure the strain, I need to go back through my trade records.  I THINK they're 75 that I got from the wedge thread.
