Hey guys ,
im just thinking up this idea for a fruiting chamber design ,what the idea is is using the trays and domes used for taking cuttings of plants and using them to fruit with !since they come with groves in the bottom I was thinking of adding a sheet of wax paper or tin foil to layer the bottom with and have the sub straight sit on that ...
im wondering if there would be any problems with the mycelium eating through the wax paper or tin foil ,maybe there are some other un for seen issues that could pose a problem ,what do you guys have to say ?

I wouldn't worry about the wax paper or foil, I would just line with plastic like a mono
Most of the domes ar in the 6 to 8 inch range so plenty for cubes, and some have air control in the ends already.
Personally I think it would work fine, may need a mist from time to time
If you do try it post the grow, I have though about using them and would like to see your results

cool thanks for the reply man!
the plastic sounds like a better idea then the wax paper and foil now you point that out ! I been working with the z strain for some time now and that sucker fruits in the worst of condition but in stead of buying expensive bins I thought that this would be more economical , and a grow log sounds like an excellent idea as well ,its been years since I have done one >
thank you ..

Another easy way I've used is the big rectangle foil pans that come with a like 5" plstic dome type lid. I get them at the dollar store and they are used for baking lasagna, chickens, etc. I spawn to bulk in the foil pan and cover with foil.
When colonized replace foil with plastic dome (lid). I make my sub level even with the top of the pan (3-1/2") or so. Then heat an old knife and melt the holes in the plastic lid for poly-fil. The hole placement is a little different than a traditional mono, with smaller holes actually on top of the dome one at each end, and 2 at sub level on each side.
Anyways, works pretty damn good and they cost a buck and can be tossed after a few runs if they get shitty. Not trying to change your way, just throwing another idea out there for you to experiment if you like it....
