Unknown Auckland Psilocybe Species ID Please
    #21825836 - 06/18/15 10:11 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Hi guys,

Can someone help me, I suspect Copelandia Cyanescens or Psilocybe Makarorae but I am not sure. I generally only come across copious amounts of Subs growing on wood chips/bark mulch and have not encountered these before.
They produced a stronger trip and we were at the general consensus they provided a more visual trip.

Apologies in advance I have not filled out all of the required details below, I will come after work and complete the ID requirements. I just wanted to get these up. I understand no one can give an official ID before I fulfill the rest of the spec. But am just too excited about my recent find find

Habitat:
Dark, mostly black wood chips. Nestled between tussock grass. Supermarket car park gardens

Gills:
Grey/turning bluish

Stem:
White, thick on the larger specimens, delicate on the smaller, younger ones. Evident bluing veins and dark blue bruising.

Cap:
Very conical in shape with most specimens having almost a perfect "nipple" at the top. The younger, fresher specimen had a darker, olive-brown appearance. But most of the medium sized to larger ones were a greyish/light tan/beige. Although some were almost silver in appearance with evident bluing. Very small to largest specimen being no more than 2cm diameter. But very convex, bell-like curving around in on themselves until the edge meets the underside/gills begin (if that makes sense).

Spore print color:
Very important!

Bruising:
Pronounced blue. Darker and very pronounced on the stems, lighter on the caps. Sometimes almost fluorescent, vibrant blue in appearance.
