substrate ratio question!
    #21825443 - 06/18/15 08:42 PM (9 years, 6 months ago)

Hi!!! im kinda thrown off with the substrate supplementation ratios...

if the supplementation recipe goes like this...
20% bran
1% lime
5% gypsum
1% molasses
5% wheat grain...

lets say we want to make 10 kgs of supplemented straw substrate... with that recipe so we have 10 kgs of straw and then add:

2 more kilos of bran
100 grams lime
500 grams gypsum
100 gram molasses
500 grams wheat

per each 10 kg of straw ending with 13.2 kg sub weight

or will it be more like
2 more kilos of bran
100 grams lime
500 grams gypsum
100 gram molasses
500 grams wheat

and then the remainder 6.8 kg % in straw to make 10 kgs of subtrate exactly?

help!! thanks in advance

Second one. It's best if you know the total wright you want to end up with. Then you can do the math based on the ratios you want.

um what is your goal here.
you have 3.2kg left of straw.
That recipe is for 68%=6.8kg of straw matter.
once you get the % ratio of your mixture then your good to go.
