Would the work economy collapse without caffeine/stimulants?

Honest question. It's the one drug that suddenly puts your brain in a place where it actually becomes tolerable to do boring, repetitive shit.
I don't think we'd have a work-based society without it. Who else needs this shit to work? lol....I know I do, especially in the afternoon...whew!

Yep, my productivity is directly related to caffeine intake. I'm amazed the government hasn't found a way to ban caffeine...

I don't drink coffee and I'm fine. I smoke weed but I don't need that either. If you can't get by doing your job sober then your work ethic sucks.

I usually try to get through the day without it, but holy fuck man....I got personal quotas to hit and sometimes I just need that shit for a boost. Exercise usually gets me through the morning, but my ass sometimes drags in the afternoon....today for example. It's late in the week and i'm just burnt the fuck out -- still have like an hour of writing to do.
NEED CAFFEINE!

Absolutely. The numher of skilled workers would also fall dramatically within a decade. Stimilants are a cat that you can't put back in the bag.

Interesting question.

I hate caffeine. It doesn't really help me focus. It just wakes me up even more and keeps me up for the night, which then fucks up my sleeping schedule and then I gotta take caffeine again to keep me up.
I do way better with ethylphenidate.

it would actually improve
caffeine or other drugs that keep u up fuck up ur sleep schedule. it's the reason why most people cant sleep in the first place.
ime work is a hundred times easier when i'm completely sober. everything is so smooth and when i get home i sleep early and wake up early without any effort.
im stupid tho, i have a horrible condition called fukitditis and i take fukitol to combat it

Some parts would. I mean, performing some types of surgery for 23 hours straight would be rather impossible without stimulants.

that's the beauty of the mind, is that we dont need drugs. we can program ourselves to stay up that long with just sheer will. btw no ones gonna even dare close their eyes during a brain surgery, the task alone should provide sufficient adrenaline to keep u up for days on end

I quit all forms of Caffeine back in November. I only quit though because of the headaches I would get, and the bright sensitivity to my eyes at times. I definitely think the economy would feel a lot more tired throughout the day.
Even though I quit, its not like I'm at a normal level where I'm pumped to bang stuff out at work. Definitely days where I miss it.

Been drinking coffee since kindergarten. Family italian tradition involves drinking coffee a lot. Especially after big family gatherings everyones drinking coffee.. My grandparents never prevented me from drinking it so yah I was addicted way early on lol. I'm pretty sure it helped me excel in math. I was always winning those time tests. It got to the point the teacher probably thought I was juicing I was so quick at them. I don't think I even lost one lol..

Good point, I guess it makes sense that "Mormon tea" would be permissible. I wonder if a lot of them still use it?
