Again, sorry to hear that. Do you at least have collision insurance so you can get it fixed up?

Ha. No.
I have liability insurance, like a fucking idiot. I was waiting for my new job i started today(fucking amazing btw, literally everything i couldve ever hoped for in a job) to get better insurance.
Well, i should be making $1200 a week now so maybe this wont be such a big deal in a month. Broke bank though. The 3100 i spent on the xar plus the few hundred i was going to put into repairs was already stretching my savings.
In a month or so this should all have been blown over.
Im just upset at how perfect of a condition it was in when i bought it, i mean it was the best crown vic ive ever seen, clean as a motherfucker.

I feel you, brother. You don't need to beat yourself up over it though, especially not over only having liability insurance.
Every car I've had with the exception of one for the past 14 years I've only gotten liability. I much rather pay only $60 a month as opposed to $220 a month since spending that much money over even one year is enough to get me in a new (used) car.
My current daily driver is a 2002 Mazda 6 with only 88k miles & not one scratch. It's not fancy, it's not fast but for transportation it's wonderful since there isn't a single problem with it. When I still worked in the auto industry I used to switch cars at least once a year. They were always cars under 10 grand but cars that drew attention from cops (i.e. 99 Eclipse GSX).
I loved them, and I loved drag racing, modding them, etc. I'm not about that life now that I'm almost 30. I drive like a grandma and am very happy doing so lol.

Been driving for 16 years and haven't had a single accident yet (knock on wood) Have avoided numerous accidents due to situational awareness and skill The only accidents I've been involved in were when other people were driving, or the one time I got hit by a car when I was 7. I don't like riding in the car when other people are driving, can't really trust most people. Especially other drivers... have to be hyper aware of other drivers on the road... they are the biggest danger. Lots of completely clueless retards with licenses out there.

When I was younger, my dad crashed his car while I was inside. That is basically all I remember, since I was only about 7.

Please tell me it was a 944 or 928, not a 911/930. if you hit an aircooled.
I never crashed into another car before. Been in a little bumpsy-doodle as a passenger though when the driver was more fixated at ogling over a mkiv supra than the escort in front ov us that we soon became intimate with. But as a passenger, my most interesting story was'nt really an accident at all:
I'm seated driver side rear with 3 others in the car, a 92-95(eg) civic hatch with a built 12.5:1 comp n/a b20vtec swap as imaginal reference for the car gals and guys. We were just cruising about, looking to catch a run should one pop up. We were making a very slow turn to merge at about 15mph or so when BANG! My ears are ringing from the noise and the cabin is instantly filled with this brownish powder that renders vision insupportable. My friend is somehow able to pull over and we exit.
What happened? The loud bang and powder were both airbags going off. See, the car was lowered and with the 4 ov us was dropped even more. The header, which ran under the engine, had hit a raised manhole cover and the contact set off the airbags. The front passenger had inhaled a big shot ov the brown powder and ended up throwing it up . That'll wake ya up.

I've only been driving 5 years and I know exactly what you mean by that (in the bolden letters). 4 years ago I was going in for a left had turn into the post office. I was stopped to let the cars on the other side pass. As I was looking out my rear view, I saw a car barreling down the road with no sign of stopping. Seeing this, I when full throttle and averted out of the way onto the right side onto another road. As I looked to my left, I saw the car behind me slamming on its brakes about 10 ft from where my car was, you could see the whole weight of the car going to the front like a really hard brake. Must have been going 50-60 miles an hour... Then I seen the driver was an elderly lady and I just though damn thank God for good situational awareness and driving skill. I never stop without looking in my rear view now.

A friend and I were going out to the bush to tend some plants and he'd had a couple glasses of wine. Although he wasn't inebrieted, he stated that legally he shouldn't be driving. We were 10kms on backroads and he had been calling me a pussy for wearing my seat belt. We hit a steep corner, skidded and he overcorrected and we went over the edge. The truck did a full roll, half collapsed the roof and smashed the windows and we were both fine. Had to walk 10kms out just before dark.
EDIT: Also got t-boned as a passenger when i was in grade 5. We were going through a 4 way stop which is never busy. The guy on the cross street slammed on the gas instead of the gas and plowed into my dads little toyota truck on my side. My cousin, dad and I were sitting in a row on a bench seat and I slammed into my cousin and broke his collar bone and my dad and I had whiplash and some abrasions but nothing serious. The truck did a 180 and nearly tipped when it hit the curb going the opposite direction. The firefighters who responded said if the truck impacted an inch or two from where it did, it could have killed us.

A lot of inexperienced drivers don't really know how fucking important situational awareness is. Even if you are the best driver in the world, that doesn't stop some idiot texting while driving from slamming into you at 60mph. A lot of really bad / careless / oblivious drivers out there that don't pay any attention to their surroundings. I worry far more about other drivers than anything else when I'm driving.
One accident I avoided last year was pretty intense. I was driving down the highway and it was a part where two highways merge together.. and traffic was really backed up where it merges.. so we were going from doing ~80MPH and slowing down real fast. As I'm slowing down, I look in my side mirror and see a truck hauling ass in the lane next to me.. had to be doing about 80 and the car in front of him (right in front of me and to the right) was slowing down real fast.. probably doing about 25MPH and laying on the brakes. I knew the impact was coming because there was no way that guy could stop in time.. sure enough a millisecond later I hear screeching tires and BLAM!
He slams into the back of the car at full speed and sends it spinning across the highway.. it spun out into my lane RIGHT in front of me and I was still doing about 40-50MPH, since I saw it coming I was prepared and immediately took a hard evasive turn into the shoulder... it barely missed hitting me head on by literally inches, if not millimeters. If I hadn't been paying attention to what was going on around me... if my eyes were looking at my phone or something for a quarter of a second... I would have been smashed by an out of control spinning car and probably would have totaled my car. I narrowly missed it, drove on and I was watching in my rear view, it ended up being like a 6 car accident.. that car ended up hitting a couple of cars and the guy behind me wasn't paying attention and smacked into it.
I have several other stories like that too, when I narrowly avoided a bad accident just because I was 1) Paying Attention and 2) Took instant action
It's vitally important to be aware of your surroundings. When I'm driving.. I pretty much ALWAYS know what's around me in 360 degrees. It's instinct, to check my side mirrors and rear view every so often to make sure I'm aware of what is behind me and to the sides as well as in front. Also equally important...is making sure you have your side mirrors set up properly. You can eliminate 99% of any "blind spot" in your side mirrors just by adjusting them properly.

So wait, explain how that works. Did the airbags explode without deploying and smacking you in the face somehow?

Both airbags deployed from the impact ov the engine hitting the manhole cover and tripping the sensors. The brownish powder must have been inside the dash/steering wheel or something; i'm not sure what that was. The windshield was also cracked by the airbags(these were the oldschool nose-busting airbags). I did'nt get hit by the airbags as i was sitting in the back. To me it was just a loud bang and the whole inside ov the car being instantly filled with this mess ov powder in the air. I had no idea what was going on and did'nt see the deployed bags until i got out ov the car.

I've been in one accident. I was coming up on a highway intersection and I was going straight. Lady was turning left so she stopped at the light, then I enter the intersection and she tries whipping out in front of me. Oncoming traffic on the left of me, on the right was more cars, all I could do was brake. I hit her with the front right side of MY DAD'S car, just below the light. And I got her in the tire and right rear quater panel. I was so pissed. I had my son in the car. If it was any worse I might have considered channeling my inner Wayne Brady. It wasn't terrible though, cosmetic on my end, she wasn't so lucky. It was a new Cadillac too, those fuckers have expensive parts.

One more reason for me to dislike cars that have super low suspensions. Got the whip back today. I'm running on a dummy right now as my mechanic couldn't find a rim that would work right away. I'm gonna get a new rim and tire put on this coming week. Besides that, he was able to repair the other tire and everything else seems fine.
