First off, i'm sorry for the bad pic, but me and my friends were high when we stumped into these. We found them growing out of a humid almost muddy ground. We were in a spot that had a river running right through it and this was about 8 feet from the river. we didn't take it because we thought we were going to come back and we forgot. so i only have one pic, hopefully you guys can identify, if not i'll just go back, take better pics and take them aswell. it has been raining lately as well.

Very difficult to tell from that picture what you have there, but it is not likely a Pluteus species growing directly from soil like that, as it appears. You'll need much better pictures of your find anyway. Check if there is any buried wood there.

Mine would probably be Gymnopus sp.
Point is - will we ever know? Will OP find this spot again, and will he still find the mushrooms?
In my experience, when I leave them to come back later, they are almost always gone. Either that, or I misidentify the place I thought I saw them first. So I try to always carry some small container or bag of some sort for a sample specimen, and my camera as often as I can.
