I currently live in South Florida where the humidity is always very high, Would it be possible to Fruit cakes in a plastic tub with no drilled holes and an open lid? Just some Perlite (water mixed in) and the cakes on top?

I would stick with a tub with a lid and holes. Youll get better FAE down in the tote where the cakes are. And your RH will remain higher longer.

You could but it would be disappointing.
The perlite and holes are for FAE not humidity. Without the holes on the bottom and sides the perlite is almost useless.

No. Dont half ass things.
Make a proper FC like everyone else and you won't regret it.

Sgfc all the way..it would be disappointing if your first grow turn out to be a flop because you decided to experiment with your FC.

It's never worth it in the long run to cut corners.
A proper (to spec) SGFC will be your bestfriend
