Measuring San P. Dose by Weight?

Hey guys, does anyone ever measure their San Pedro dose by weight? I know everyone usually talks about 1ft per person or whatever but the other day I drank some San Pedro tea and while on the cactus I was also brewing up a huge dose that weighed 14lbs.
Now my problem here is that I don't know how to measure these doses. I have about 20oz the tea. If anyone can shine some light on this subject I would really appreciate it.

San Pedro can vary quite significantly in potency so it can be hard to answer this question without knowing how potent your particular san pedro is.
Another thing you also have to consider is the water content of the cactus. This can also vary significantly which would obviously affect the potency.
The most precise way would be to dry the cactus it out, weigh it, then judge the potency for yourself. Once you get a feel for how strong your particular cactus is, then you can measure your doses accordingly.
Or obviously extracting the mescaline would be the other way to go but I'm assuming this is not the route you want to take.
[EDIT] Ok, actually I just re-read your post. So you have 20oz of tea of an unknown potency? That is going to be very hard for any of us to give you an accurate dosage.

I am not sure how this information correlates to most modern cuttings as cuttings from different SP have wildly varying potency.
I would just use it as a rough guideline, similarly to the 12 ft rule. I think the 12 ft rule is kind of ridiculous because it doesn't account for the actual width of the cacti, and even if it did you couldn't possibly measure accurately because of varying depths of the spines.
I think your best bet would be to potency test with a 1/4 to 1/2 of the guesstimated dose by weight, that way you have a much better idea of the dose you are taking when you have your actual trip!

I came to the same conclusion after reading once more! The potency test rule still definitely applies, and is smart practice with a brew from new cuttings you are unfamiliar with.
