checking my sub with bare hands! and cooling down time

i was checking my sub squeezing it (coir/verm/gypsum) with my bare hands inside the bucket were its being left to cool down...did i expose it to contamination?
and is 6 hrs enough for the sub to cool down?

It will be exposed to contamination no matter what, its not going to be sterile after you spawn it. You are fine.
And time means nothing. As long as it is under 90 degrees or so its fine. Whats another 12-24 hours anyways after the 2+ weeks of colonization? I tend to pasteurize at night and spawn in the morning or the next night.

Why risk it? I always wash my hands with disinfectant soap, use iso alcohol on my hands, put on gloves, more alcohol to clean the gloves and wait to dry before handling sub.
I live in a high contam environment so have learned to be very strict about sterile technique.

If your grain is clean and your sub is properly prepared, then your bare hands will be a non issue.
That said, I wear gloves when I spawn my tubs.

ohh i didnt mix them without gloves but when i checked the water and temp of the coir inside the bucket (when it was cooling down) i wasnt wearing gloves.

You'll be fine as long as the spawn is clean and the sub was prepped correctly.
