ehhh it had to come to this.  i lost everything and more because of my addiction.  shit got really bad, especially when i was smoking dope, hittin the pookie, and railin coke.  mad binges of that shit.  gnarly speedballs and intense downer combos.  i'd regularly mix opiates, benzos, alcohol, barbs, and muscle relaxers.  i stopped caring about life so i'm hopin this will do me some good.

Going into rehab in Jan. 2014 was probably the smartest thing I've done for myself in my life.
Accepting my alcoholism as a disease makes it so much easier (for me) to beat my addiction, one day at a time.
Stay strong and teachable, you got this if you really want it.

Just keep focused on "today" Sancho and keep an open mind. You probably can't begin to imagine life without all those chems...Don't think about your future ...just don't take any today. That is what I have done since March of 1999....alot of todays. I have learned to plan for the future....just not plan the results.:sunny::peace:

Rehab was the best thing I ever did.

Spent 60 days and 6 months in sober living in southern California

Make sure you can sign out of that bitch if it's not to your liking.
Don't forget that you (or someone close by) is paying for your stay!

Don't let the prison guard mentality get you down.
Also, if you have the chance, might wanna read:

Quote:

"Based on Gabor Maté’s two decades of experience as a medical doctor and his groundbreaking work with the severely addicted on Vancouver’s skid row, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts radically reenvisions this much misunderstood field by taking a holistic approach. Dr. Maté presents addiction not as a discrete phenomenon confined to an unfortunate or weak-willed few, but as a continuum that runs throughout (and perhaps underpins) our society; not a medical "condition" distinct from the lives it affects, rather the result of a complex interplay among personal history, emotional, and neurological development, brain chemistry, and the drugs (and behaviors) of addiction. Simplifying a wide array of brain and addiction research findings from around the globe, the book avoids glib self-help remedies, instead promoting a thorough and compassionate self-understanding as the first key to healing and wellness. In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts argues persuasively against contemporary health, social, and criminal justice policies toward addiction and those impacted by it. The mix of personal stories—including the author’s candid discussion of his own "high-status" addictive tendencies—and science with positive solutions makes the book equally useful for lay readers and professionals."

Just something to pass the time with.
Also, don't fall for that 12 step bullshit, keep 'em real with cognitive behavioral therapy and ask 'em about tapering! Good luck.

That is absolute bullshit! A 12 step program might be just what he needs. It saved my life....Been sober 16 yrs. now. If you look, there is always a easier, softer way....and those people ALWAYS come back to a 12 step program when theirs doesn't work.

12 steps are about changing your behavior....simply 1) Trusting that there is a power bigger than you that can help you. 2) cleaning up your house and your past and making amends to people that you've harmed 3) helping others. What is so fucking wrong with that formula? I'll tell ya....it's work ....and, like I said....everyone wants a easier way out.

To sit here on your high horse and say that a 12 step program should not be trusted....is incredibly irresponsible of you and you could, n actuality, be signing someones death warrant.
