I think you are trying to point to the 'understanding'.
In regards to sense though; for something to make sense, that 'thing' would require perceivable causes, and by a working through of those causes, come to show that it could not have happened any other way?

I think trying gets in the way of doing.. And that George Lucas spoiled the factual inheritance of that "one liner" by having 'Yoda' quote it to the world.. :p
