What is full of shit is your notion that I'm claiming enlightenment, and this for taking drugs. I do no such thing.

You gain knowledge from life experience.
I have 42 years of life experience, I spent much of that life thinking hard and having very extreme experiences, sober and high. I been meditating since my teens.
I take all that to my drug experiences. My experiences are deep and profound as a result.
Taking mescaline won't let you have a trip like The Doors Of Perception, first and foremost being Aldous Huxley on mescaline generates such trips.
You call bullshit on people like me because you do not understand us and are a disagreeable person.

Wanna know something? That is what it often times is all about.
If I could smoke a cigarette and claim that every time I did it I became enlightened, well nobody could tell me to stop smoking cigarettes. If someone takes a drug and achieves "enlightenment", nobody can argue that perhaps taking that drug so often is detrimental to their life.
I think drugs give people a false sense of enlightenment especially when it comes to psychedelics. By nature psychedelics are basically mental masturbation in that your thoughts seem to have this mysterious significance and meaning during the peak of the experience. If you were to actually write them down or try to remember them later these thoughts would just seem completely ridiculous most of the time, which is why when people write down their amazing revelations in trip reports the actual content of the revelation is usually either really simple or just disorganized and more of a belief then anything.
Overall, enlightenment can for sure be a way for an addict to rationalize use. Not all the time but there does seem to be a trend of it happening.

I had a ego loss out of body mind quieting conciseness awaking and received the visions of alpha and omega dimensions of mind and space, majesty of nature, Yady yada. But the things this dude says makes me think he is more "enlightened" or experienced than me and the path I'm on. It's not a contest for me I just don't understand how someone that has seen the beauty in and of life can be so destructive. It's like a new breed.
And to the post asking me if I'm jelous of him no, of course not. The only thing i might be jelous of him would be he gets more bitches. But that's really not a feat, women like that type.

You do not have to have a mind numbing drug induced experience to appreciate the beauty of the world or your fellow human beings. In fact, if you do need that mind numbing drug induced experience to do so you are not well

Asante said: Enlightenment is something very simple. Please listen closely to this:
This is enlightenment. To have the realization that everything is well with all things, to be liberated from your fear and doubt by this knowledge, and to remain into this knowledge, to not have it slip away when the mood or drug wears off. And the void left by the absence of fear and pain will be fillerd with LOVE, unconditional love that radiates inward and outward.
Thats all that enlightenment is. Taking inner peace to a higher level. It doesnt make you better than another, everyone is the best, but you are better off because the suffering associated with fear and doubt barely affects you anymore.
You don't suddenly go Supersaiyan but you do level up.

Having psychic experiences does not mean someone is enlightened. Those who talk about it the most have the least of it. Definitions are not important, psychedelic or psychic experiences are not it. Its easier to say what its not than what it is.
psy baba >Those who say, do not know it.
>Those who know it, do not say.

Yeah as I'm reading I'm just seeing how fuckin hypocritical you are being. You said "Really? You think you're enlightened"? You should have said that to yourself,it would've been spot on. I can tell how smart a person actually is by the way they talk about enlightenment. Anyone that thinks they know more then everyone else or on some kind of intelligence plateau that no one else can get to is delusional. Part of being smarter and more enlightened then others is understanding there is ALWAYS new things to learn about life no matter how much you are enlightened. You do not know everything. Psychedelics can teach you a lot about the universe but it certainly can't teach you everything in life. The moment you think you know everything you stop learning new things.

I'm not so sure. I wasn't a tourist though. I was a teacher, which is tantamount to being a hero to people in that country.
