What is a mindfold?
Same effect as darkness even with your eyes open.

Totally dark. Pretty good tool.

You mean cubes have a coercive voice? Or the ones you mentioned?
Also, could it be saying "do this or suffer" because its trying to help you? If I say, "look both ways before crossing the street, or suffer" then I'm trying to help you.
And when it comes to the mindfold: Is that going to get uncomfortable while tripping? And if it does, will you even be aware enough to take it off? Again, I've yet to take my first trip. Sorry if my questions seem too ignorant.

I've had that voice before. It was funny and sort of high pitched but it told me a lot about myself. It was talking to me as if it was someone else in the room and my thoughts were going at a billion miles per hour.

It is the perfect thing because firstly, it works like a bandana keeping hair our of eyes. It also has holes cut for where your eyes are so you have you eyes wide open, but nothing but darkness and pure shroom visuals. Truly fascinating and you will get way better visuals in the dark like that than looking at everyday stuff.
It also prevents a lot of anxiety by blocking out any and all external stimuli. So it's just you, your imagination and the power of the mushroom. Trust me, you will thank me later haha

And yes, you can take it off whenever and use it like a bandana if you need to see/ navigate

I replied earlier but I forget that I rationalize this stuff after a few days of integration.
Anyway I took a quarter for the first time the other night and felt like I was in contact with a mushroom intelligence. I imagined it to be a large mycelium network on the planet, connected to all other mycelial networks. Like a giant brain spanning across the globe. One that can communicate with us and work with us if we listen (and sometimes even if we don't), becoming even larger.
I was also really stoned and staring at the shrooms growing in my monotubs, thinking about the mycelium in there, and how they might view me.
It's not the first time I've had an experience like that and probably won't be the last.
At one point I thought I should come report back into this thread and the voice said that you'd probably appreciate that bennylava so here I am
The intelligence talked to me mostly about light and seemed very concerned about global warming.

Yes it is very comfortable. I put it on when I lie down when I start to feel it kicking in. You won't even notice it's on. Then you can easily pull it above your forehead and use it to keep hair out of your eyes.

That brings me to another question. When you're tripping out, are you really in a state where you can make a conscious decision and say:
"Alright, I want to take this thing off my head. Let me just reach up there, and pull it off".
Some people say planning ahead and using stuff is nearly impossible.

Hard to say. Trip sitters are good for stuff like this

Nope. My first reaction to if I start to see scary shit or get anxious is to lift the mindfold. Like an instinct. Plus I'm used to pulling it on and off when I need to walk around. But if things get scary, my first response is to lift it and maybe change environment. Trust me, you won't forget it's on.
Then again I don't really do heroic doses... usually 1.5-2g initially, then another 2-3 an hour or so laters

Ok thanks for the replies. This will sound like a noob question. But its just something I've been thinking about. If you're seeing scary shit, are you still aware that you're merely tripping? Or is it kind of out of your control, where an emotion is attached, which would be fear.
An example. Remember the holodeck on star treck? Well if they wanted, they could go in there and see all manner of real scary shit on the holodeck. But they weren't afraid cause they knew it wasn't real. Barring all those malfunctions that were put in there for the sake of having an interesting episode. But when it was working normally, it didn't matter. They weren't afraid. Could it ever be that way, say once you were really experienced, with shrooms?

You want safety, yet you want to walk a tight rope at the same time. Well, your best bet is to start with manageable doses. 1.5 gram or so and see how you handle it. Then, if all goes well with that, do two. And go from there. Don't try a Mckenna dose right off. You could have a very bad time of it.
As for voices. Voices aren't hard to get, on shrooms or off. But be aware that the same voice can tell you something useful one day and advise you to jump off the roof the next. Just don't get the idea that ANY voice you hear is "The Voice of God". If you hear a voice say something that sounds true and useful, try it. If you hear a voice that tells you to do something that doesn't feel right to you, just say, "Fuck You" and walk away.

I would highly advise against having guns or knives around. Also lock your doors and unplug/turn off your phones. Start low and slow.

Honestly I considered wall chains and handcuffs. Now that I've learned a lot more, its pretty clear that would just lead to a "bad" trip.
