My house runs a little cold- 68-70 degrees

RR had suggested a space heater away from the mushies to raise ambient temp of the room. While I have had growth at 9 days in I was wondering if perhaps placing a wire terrarium heater (the kind with a heating element in a cord to be wrapped about things)on the wall behind the shelf I have them on.
What do yall think- even worth it? I would of course segregate to see if it had any effect.

Personally I'd like to raise temps to 75-80 but on the other hand I haven't had much luck mucking around with heaters, heat pads etc. So I guess I have to agree with stonesun.

Man your house is warm, mine gets to around 50℉ at nights with the highest temp of 68℉.
Don't bother with the terrarium heat pad and only use a oil heater if you have bulk jars/containers that need incubating otherwise run around your house with a thermometer and find the warmest part, even if it's 70℉ colonisation still happens just in its own time.

i had 720ml jars colonizing in 3 weeks in 70F, shrooms grow to, but slower, yet they'll be meatier and u less likely end up with hollow stems

I always found space heaters cause unstable humidity, which fucked with my SGFC. I would say avoid the heater and make sure everything else is dialed in.

Yep, no need for extra heat. I prefer my FCs to be around 65-70F.

They are looking fairly strong despite the cooler temps- I'd say about tripled in visibility (at least) since last night. (Still just a patchwork of splotches at this point.) my poor jar that only had one usable injection port (should have tested before pc'ing) is going to have a long fight.

I keep reptiles so I have a lot of extra reflector domes and heat bulbs. In winter I just use a regular old 50W infrared inside a dome inside a vivarium to keep my colonizing jars at a stable temperature
