Himegoko ro (bridgesii)
    #21808592 - 06/14/15 10:35 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

I know this is a long shot but... Has anyone heard of a cultivar Himegokoro?

I bought a bridgesii a few month back. The label was disintegrating since it probably was in the pot for some 10 years. It looked like it was labeled: #1892 Himegoko ro.

never heard of that. a quick search leads to nothing except this thread. Also that's the name of something i would  probably pay  tenfold for.

while shape doesen't feel odd, the color is really bright.
maybe it's a slightly variegated one, maybe it stays full sun, maybe has some Nitrogen deficiency

Or maybe, the previous owner of this pot was Himegoko Robert, born in 1892 (asian people  = longevity)

That is really bright indeed!

Interesting theory Lemna, I could see that being it, or something along those lines at least.

All the cactus I bought from the guy were neglected. He said he used to work for a nursery back in the 80's and that's were he got the various cactus I bought from him. They were in his backyard in an area that wouldn't get much sun. I've planted some of them in full sun and haven't noticed a color change yet (couple months).
