SporeWorks as of late....
    #21807634 - 06/14/15 07:01 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Hello, fellow mushroom enthusiasts.
Can someone please fill me in as to what has been going on with SporeWorks? I have had nothing but great success with them thus far. Has anyone noticed a recent change over there? Please advise. I am worrying about a really late shipment, together with their site being down right now. Thanx for your feedback.

The site is up, and they have a top notch costumer service.
I'd say nothing to worry about. Message them or even call them and
ask about your order.

They sent me an e-mail.
I think it's going to be just fine.
They said they unexpectedly ran out of everything I ordered.

There's certainly no reason to panic. Any site disruptions would be very temporary and related to server maintenance. We may be doing an "upgrade" soon, so that may have us offline for a short bit, but if we're doing our jobs right, it should be minimal.

That said, we've been restructuring a little bit, mostly with a focus on trying to be more responsive to customer feedback and communications. I'd say that we're probably one of the most, if not the most responsive vendor in the business. There are not many that have a public phone number to call... and even though we may not be able to get to every phone call, we do our best and will try to call you back ASAP.

Summer tends to be a little slower in this "business" and as a result our small office will often filter through vacations and such... so at any given time in June and July we may be down a man (or woman) and that may make shipping a day or so slower, or email responses just a little laggy... but we are here to make sure you get your material in as timely a manner as possible.

It's rare, but occasionally we will run a temporary backorder if we unexpectedly find ourselves out of something (this is more common with the "rarer" varieties). In some cases this will hold your order a few days, but if it seems like it will be any longer we will try to contact you to let you know the ETA.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to improve our response and performance. It's easy to forget in this day in age, but many of these companies (like ours) are as close to mom and pop as you can get... we're no Amazon, but in many cases the customer's expectations remain that high in terms of what is expected for shipping and customer service.

Good to hear! Sporeworks is the only vendor I use, 100% satisfied with all of my orders

It appears however that a majority of strains (particularly in the print section) are out of stock. Will you be getting more stock soon?

Yes, it's been an area that we've regrettably neglected lately, as well as the expansion of new species availability. We're buckling down on that as well and we're hoping to see many of them, especially the exotics, return to stock over the next 3-6 months.

Thanks again for your patronage and support!

I just received my first LC from SporeWorks. Shipping took a little longer than I expected, but was still pretty fast. I ordered Friday morn and it was here Thursday. They said something about mail did not get picked up on Saturday so it didn't get shipped till Monday. I have no idea how to tell if it looked good. There was allot of floating things in there so I guess that's a good thing. Right? I inoculated 5 one pound sterilized wheat grain bags from Outgrow. I hope they all do well. Outgrows service was fantastic! Ordered on the same Friday as the LC and received the bags on Monday! One bad thing is that I forgot to mention being a member here so no freebies like I hear about. My bad. Maybe next time. I will let everyone know how the grain spawn turns out. It is Lion's Mane by the way.

I likewise received a good-looking shipment from SporeWorks two days ago. All the syringes have a TON of spores floating around in there! Once again, I am pleased with the SporeWorks product.
My issue before has been resolved. All is right again in the world of SporeWorks.

My buddy John has only purchased products from Sporeworks and has never had any issues.  He always gets the "house selects" special for about $10 and begs for his freebie.  Always gets it too!  Sorry he's so cheap but he really does love you guys.

Mental note to self:order LC syringe from Sporeworks first, and order rye berries from Outgrow 2 days later. Should arrive about the same time.
