Fuckin' Ticks!
    #21806972 - 06/14/15 03:59 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

They are driving me crazy! Never seen a year like this other than in Kentucky. I live in Oregon and see a tick on average every ten years. I do a lot of outdoor work, mining, etc. I've been relatively indoor since February and I've already seen 2 ticks that came in with my dog I think. I found them both tickling my foot(must be why they're called ticks!) and neither got me, but one got me in the balls in 2005 while picking huckleberries, so I'm on edge. Every little itch I think there could be a tick crawling up my leg and I have to check. Spending a lot of time pulling pants down with no results. I can't wait to get up to work at 13,000' in a couple weeks.

I've seen a fair share of them when I was a young boy up in Wisconsin and Illinois. Sseems to me that if you light one on fire it pops or explodes. Could just be a false memory though.

I've had two run ins with ticks this year myself, which is 2 more than the past ten years combined.  No idea why, but it leaves a guy paranoid, ya know?

My father was a veterinarian and I can remember hanging out in the back of the clinic as a kid, watching all kinds of shit.  In the summer people would bring in their outdoor dogs for tick removal.  Some of the ticks were so engorged they were the size of grapes.  So mind your pets, people, and check yourself often while you're at it.

I haven't been outside more than 15 minutes total since beginning of May and I've found 2 tics on myself this year!! Came in with the dog.
I'm an expert at finding them though, haven't had one bite me in 3 years and I've easily found 15 on me in the same time. I've found dozens embedded in my dog though.
Hate the little fuckers.

Ticks are like the very embodiment of greed. They just keep on sucking till they blow up. I mean, How fucking greedy is that?

If ticks and fleas were no longer a part of this world I don't think anyone would shed a year

I had a couple friends get lyme disease last year. Its such a pain checking consistently, but it's definitely safer to be paranoid about them

Yes, removing ticks require careful techniques to avoid expelling further of its insides into you, which carries an increased risk of infections.

Man when I was a kid ticks went straight for my balls/dick. Happened multiple times they wouldn't bite me anywhere else.

When I was growin weed I must've hit a nest of deer ticks or somethin I had probably a hundred on me still not as bad as getting bit in the dick multiple times a year though.

Deer tics have a higher chance of carrying Lyme disease than do dog tics if I remember correctly.

Two ticks this year. Lol.

I have a minimum of two ticks a week. I've pulled ones off my back, abdomen, back of knee and taint area this week alone.

Deer ticks (genus ixodes) are the only tick that carries Lyme. The lone star tick can cause people to become severely allergic to red meat.
