Poo for substrate

What kind of poo usually works best for a bulk sub? I have been calling some of the local garden shops and supermarkets in my search and most of them sell either manure with hummus or a manure compost mix. The strain that I am hoping to cultivate requires dung in the bulk sub to grow properly and I am unsure as to whether either of these types of manure have a high enough dung ratio.

Straight hpoo is considered the best for cubes.

Ya that's more or less what I've read. I guess what I'm trying to ask is if something that is not entirely 100% horse poo could work as far as cultivation goes.

Field aged/dried Horse poo is probably the first choice.
I've also used sheep poo with great results as well...

Horse manure is geenerally considered the best option because it has good consistency and is often free, depending on your location. I've read that composted cow manure works well but should be fluffed up with verm and/or coir.
I mix horse manure with coir and verm. Comes out pretty nice.

Sheep poo has worked well for me.
Any herbivore poo will work, basically. Horse is best. Composted isn't ideal but will do if it has to.

Interesting, I've mostly read composted is better. Because of the decomposition it's easier / quicker for the mycelium to consume.
Thinking this is an old school vs new school thing.

You've read info that's been copied from TMC, which was written in the 70s I believe. A lot of that info was ripped straight from textbooks, which didn't have a lot of good info. We've come a LONG way since.

Aah I get it how. I confused 'composted' with leached and dried.
Not an option for many of us doing small grows, living in cities, apartments and/or low humidity environments. I buy sifted, dehydrated and compressed hpoo online and it works like a charm

If that's your case, coir works just as well for Cubensis. Does pretty damn well for Mexicanae too.

I'm currently using hpoo/coir/verm/coffee grounds. So far so good.
